I never noticed it before, but it's happened on a couple of purchases I made in the last week.


(there is plenty of money in the account, so a shortage of cash is not the problem)

Found out why. Old credit card's expiry date had passed. Needed to be updated. Have done so. End of story. Thank you very much.

I wish eBay and PayPal were in line with other of their enterprises like Half.com. I sold a textbook of Moonglow's from last semester. They have two dates during the month on which they tally up your sales, and it takes another week to credit it to your bank account. Why don't they just add PayPal as an option and credit it immediately? (Answer: they probably get a lot of interest payments from the cash they're sitting on, but I still wish they'd cough it up, considering the size of the commission they take from these sales).

Hang on! Paypal credits your bank in the same second that you request it, it's YOUR bank that hangs on to it for interest!

No it isn't, not at Half.com. Go in there and read the site information. They don't have PayPal account access AND they don't let you ship using your PayPal account via USPS, UPS, etc. If I sell on eBay and they pay with PayPal it goes into my PayPal account immediately, but if I transfer from PayPal to my bank it takes a few days.

With first direct it's them that hold it.
