I am a caveman and still have dial up. About 4 months ago AOL made some changes and the games I used to be able to play on POGO stopped working. Does anyone with dial up have any suggestions what games I might be able to play? I got so bored i had to join facebook! Help me!

try mah jongg or ma jong -- not the original chinese game that requires 4 players, but the solitaire tile game....

Tell me about it! I live in a remote area and can only get dial-up at a reasonable rate (Huges wanted $99 one time set-up fee, $9.99 monthly charge and [here it comes, folks] a $59.99 monthly service charge! That's for the slowest package! It goes up from there!)...so I'm stuck with dial-up until I move and man! you ought see where I live!

However, I play WOW and most of my characters are on a realm that is closed as it is "full" and on the weekends I'm lucky to get on at all! I have to steer clear of heavily populated areas as I keep getting disconnected. In other areas the "lag" is so bad nobody wants the dial-up guy in a group and I can't say that I blame them. You're always several seconds behind the action on the screen.

I've looked at Aion and it is a similar game but stunningly beautiful (read: more band-width!) but with things the way they are, I'll never get to have it. Alas!

Heck! Sometimes it's even a problem to log and blog here at the 'cat! As per open mike, yeah stand alone games are OK...for a while but then you get to missing the human element of unpredictability and social interaction.

You know, my taxes also went into the R&D that has given the US and the world satellite tech. It seems to me that it should be available for all! Instead we have the same old mega corps monopolizing and making obscene profits from it. Thanks a lot US Govt.! Thanks a lot!

I'm on dialup when I'm at home, and Yahoo Games works all right for me, at least for Mah Jong. It's worth a try.

Look on the bright side. I work for myself from home and since Quake Live came online have suffered a serious productivity loss!
