Subject: RE: know anything about Tsavo?? From: GUEST,sooze(at work) Date: 30 Jan 01 - 03:29 AM Tsavo is a game park quite near to Mombassa in Kenya. The soil is rich in iron salts so the elephants look red! We stayed at the Voi Safari Lodge when we were there and it was very beautiful and exciting. Perhaps there is more than one Tsavo................ |

Subject: RE: know anything about Tsavo?? From: longarm Date: 30 Jan 01 - 08:29 PM There is a museum in Chicago that has the original lion in a display(stuffed of course!) Havn't got the website at the moment but it is available on Yahoo, it's facinating. Seeya |
Subject: RE: know anything about Tsavo?? From: Extra Stout Date: 31 Jan 01 - 02:22 AM Patterson (Val Kilmer in the movie)wrote about his experience in Tsavo. An excerpt from his book is available from the Field Museum in Chicago, which houses mounts of the title characters in "The Ghost And The Darkness". Love the movie, but Pattersons written account is wierder and creepier, being devoid of Hollywood embellishment. Robert Stack's 3-D epic, "B'wana Devil" also deals with Patterson's experience at Tsavo, but is a terrible movie. |
