Old threads mixed up

To look up an old thread i put "jutland" into search box
I then clicked on the first of my own posts listed, and was sent to someone else's message in a thread about crematoria!

Clicking on the thread worked ok, but the posts were all jumbled up.
A post would appear well ahead of the post it was responding to, so that an informed discussion appeared as a series of pointless comments.

I expect there is a really good reason why this is done, but the value of the archive is diminished.

The data got corrupted in a crash earlier this year. I believe they are working on wasys to correct this but I don't think it's an easy task.

Mudcat crashed on June 13th this year, and as Jon said, some data was corrupted. So posts made before then can appear jumbled. Some threads seem more badly affected than others. As you noticed, the Search can find the right thread, but will take you to a completely wrong post. There are also places where there is doubling up - links at the top of threads and photos are two I have noticed.

These things are not the best, but they are working on the problem. As far as I'm concerned - these days I'm just happy if Mudcat is up!

Is that the cause of the double entries on the alphabetic DT browser too?

I'd guess that all the double entries anywhere on Mudcat would have the same cause.
