Subject: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 14 Dec 11 - 12:39 PM Little Hawk and I are discussing a pilgramage to Nazereth PA to visit the Martin factory for a few days then off to elderly music store. Pehaps we should make it a meeting trip for any interested catters. Any thoughts? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 11 - 12:58 PM LH has been here. We have sleep space depending on timing.... quite a bit of it for hardy Catters and some for think-skinned Catters as well. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 14 Dec 11 - 01:01 PM Susan where are you? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: John MacKenzie Date: 14 Dec 11 - 01:05 PM It's an interesting tour. I did it in 2005. Enjoy |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Rapparee Date: 14 Dec 11 - 01:40 PM Y'all could come a-visitin' out this way, too. Oh sure, you'll say Idaho is a couple thousand miles out of the way. I know, I know, but I'll take ya to Yellowstone and you can see water spurt way up into the sky. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 11 - 01:49 PM Zipcode 16933, just off the highway. It's another 2 hours or so to State College where I believe Max is still based these days. Might be we'd take us a ride over thataway too, depending on timing. Hardi's car holds 4 comfortably, or 3 passengers can share the roomy back seat if they're friendly. (Room for axes in back and me in front). Mudcatter LilyFestre also lives in the area here and Mmario is a few hours north (have bedspace for him if desired). Dick and Susan have been known to visit periodically (have their usual bedspace avaifor them but no longer dog-free unless they want the new, improved attic room they used once). Cot-space at the church and a bedroom there LH may recall, too. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Bill D Date: 14 Dec 11 - 04:08 PM When might all this happen? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 11 - 07:09 PM Hopefully not over Christmas/New Year's, sez Hardi. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 14 Dec 11 - 09:25 PM LH needs to get his passport renewed so it won't be for at least a few weeks |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 14 Dec 11 - 09:25 PM I don't know zip codes so I'll respectfully ask again Where are you? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Dec 11 - 09:29 PM See PM, Raptor. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Bobert Date: 14 Dec 11 - 09:51 PM Well, well, well... Maybe I could take my old '66 D-18 back for a tune up... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Crowhugger Date: 14 Dec 11 - 10:03 PM Just pop the zip code into googlemaps or mapquest. |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Max Date: 15 Dec 11 - 02:23 AM I'm in. Let's do this. If anyone wants to come by mudcat central here in Bellefonte/State College, PA, you're always welcome, you know. max |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Leadfingers Date: 15 Dec 11 - 06:10 AM I would LOVE to join in , but the Trans Pond trip makes it just a tad expensive for a pensioner - even to see Wys and Hardi AND Max again |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 15 Dec 11 - 08:45 AM But the DOG, Terry, the DOG! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Rapparee Date: 15 Dec 11 - 02:13 PM So are you coming to Idaho or not? It's not as far out of the way as, say,Hanoi. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: GUEST,Wesley S Date: 15 Dec 11 - 03:42 PM Well - Bobert has a 66 D-18 and mine is a 67. I know of another Mudcatter with a 69. So who owns a 68? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Jack the Sailor Date: 15 Dec 11 - 03:58 PM D18 would be a very large bulldozer |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Little Hawk Date: 15 Dec 11 - 05:46 PM I have to get the passport renewed. That probably takes us into late January or February sometime for the trip. We definitely want to get down to Nazareth, so visiting at Susan's place will be perfect. I don't think they're very far from Nazareth. Other than that, I'd like to make a visit to Elderly Instruments in Lansing, Michigan. I've been hearing about that place for years, and I'd sure like to see their lineup of guitars and other accessories. We have our doubts about bringing our guitars down across the border, given all the weird stuff that's going on with Rosewood guitars now. I certainly don't want some over-zealous customs agent deciding to sieze one of my favorite instruments because he can't tell the difference between Brazilian Rosewood and East Indian Rosewood. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Rapparee Date: 15 Dec 11 - 07:32 PM You'll have to go through Idaho if you want to borrow some good instruments. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Leadfingers Date: 15 Dec 11 - 07:34 PM Susan - I darent even THINK about Faulkner !!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 15 Dec 11 - 09:01 PM LH, Hardi has an ole geetar.... Jes' set the date. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: MarkS Date: 15 Dec 11 - 10:59 PM Looking forward to the date and hope I am available. Nazareth is within driving distance for me. Nice to see some of you again Mark |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Meet From: Stilly River Sage Date: 15 Dec 11 - 11:06 PM Sounds like a good visit is shaping up. And it isn't BS. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 16 Dec 11 - 01:16 AM I made the trip to Nazareth a couple of years ago and did the Martin tour. Very interesting but I was disappointed with the high degree of automation. There is a room where you can try out some guitars and a D-18 hanging on the wall really sang. There is also a museum of sorts behind glass of some vintage stuff that will make you drool. I'm glad that I went! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Dec 11 - 09:26 AM Sounds like a good visit is shaping up. Whether we are a way station or a weekend gathering point, it will be just be great to see LH again and meet Raptor. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Cool Beans Date: 16 Dec 11 - 09:55 AM If you're going to Elderly, I'm on the way, near Detroit. I've got room for two or three to stay over (third person gets the fold-out couch, first two get beds). And I'd be delighted to drive out to Lansing with you. It's a 1.5-hour drive from me. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 16 Dec 11 - 02:49 PM This is going to be a great trip. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: saulgoldie Date: 16 Dec 11 - 03:52 PM Sounds good! The date and specifics are still pending, yes? I'm only 'bout 3 1/2 hours from there. I kin bring someone up from the DC area, or pick 'em up on the way. Might even could put someone up. Saul |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Max Date: 16 Dec 11 - 04:32 PM Man, I'd love to see Elderly. My map says Mudcat Central is 3 hours from Nazareth, btw. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: CET Date: 16 Dec 11 - 08:26 PM I hope that Atticus is not yet meowing with the choir invisible. |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Little Hawk Date: 17 Dec 11 - 02:38 AM Try Penelope Rutledge for that, Big Al. There's just the tiniest chance you might get her to say "yes". |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Cool Beans Date: 17 Dec 11 - 12:32 PM I shot this video at Elderly a couple years ago. I'd forgotten about it until Max mentioned he'd like to see the place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKMb-5RQuSw |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: kendall Date: 18 Dec 11 - 08:07 AM Living in Maine has its advantages, it keeps a lot of people that I don't like away, but it also keeps people I do like away. Sigh. I live so far back in the woods I have to come IN to hunt. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 18 Dec 11 - 09:24 AM Rap, LH, The distances discussed so far are such that you may have 3-4 MudGathers going here: <> an overnight-to-weekend sleep/pick/eat-athon here, <> a (Mudcat Central) State College meet-up (could be day-tripped from here), and <> a Nazareth Meet pulling folks from further east (bit long for a daytrip), <> an overnight-to-weekend sleep/pick/eat-athon here. BTW an hour north of us is a FABULOUS winter thingie-- the Corning Museum of Glass. A great indoor walk/photography/coffeebar thing for a cold, windy day. Spencer's restaurant nearby can easily host a meal, with guitars-- they have a room that would be perfect (with fireplace)... Some others who may wish to pile in: Hollowfox Mmario Dharmabum Deb Chesman Don Meixner Hogeye ... others will come to mind ..... and of course each of them has potential music-type folk who might jine in once they know where and when. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: Bobert Date: 18 Dec 11 - 09:30 AM Sniff... I'd love to meet up with ya'll but too long a drive these days... B:~( |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 18 Dec 11 - 10:05 AM Yeah, it needs just a leetle planning. Burke Tinker .... there was a rabbit.....??? ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: EBarnacle Date: 18 Dec 11 - 10:16 AM Driving across Pennsy a few years back gave me a lot of respect for the people who had to do it on foot. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Meet From: EBarnacle Date: 18 Dec 11 - 10:19 AM Lady Hillary and I just checked the map. It's only a coupla hours from home. If we party, howsomever... |
