Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: Bill D Date: 06 Mar 06 - 06:10 PM 9½ years now, and I have seen 6-7 or more swings as different mixes of folk enter the fray. It's like global warming...you can't predict a 'trend' based on a small sample. Besides, it may be the "big city syndrome" the larger the population, the more of ANY type behavior you will find, and the nasty ones have a way of making noise and trouble out of proportion to their numbers. |

Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Mar 06 - 06:40 PM It's a tremendous shock, isn't it, John? I remember the first time I agreed with Clinton almost as well as I remember the day Kennedy got shot. |

Down right hostile stuff... And now that we have ther *new and slightly improved" MG, things have settled down some... Oh yeah, there were a couple really obnoxious GUEST's a couple months ago that I had a run-in with and pissed off at least one regular but, hey... ... nuthin' out of the ordinary for this joint... |

Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: Deckman Date: 06 Mar 06 - 06:53 PM I will agree with you if you substitute "cynical" for "bitter" ... at least as far as I'm concerned. Bob |

Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: John O'L Date: 07 Mar 06 - 05:45 AM This thread is not just a bitter pill to swallow, it's also a can of worms, a tough nut to crack, a leap in the dark, as good as gold, fair and square, and food for thought, but hold your horses, in a nutshell its all Greek to me. Its a whole new ball game. All hell's breaking loose but I'm as cool as a cucumber. Fair enough? |

Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: Ron Davies Date: 07 Mar 06 - 07:03 AM Actually, it seems in the last week to have improved dramatically. We still disagree, sometimes heatedly, but in general the stupid vulgar personal attacks appear to have moderated. Even our favorite erstwhile denizen of the sewer seems to have emerged from the Stygian darkness-- (just had to seize the opportunity to use "Stygian darkness"--such occasions don't appear very often)-- and decided (whether under duress or not) that there might just possibly be a purpose to communication after all. Well, the proof of the pudding.... When the vulgar personal attacks do still appear, at least the perpetrators may apologize, which has rarely happened til now. But, don't worry, the shipment of cynicism arrived intact. So, as has already been suggested, let's all have a pint of bitter or whatever you'd like. |

Subject: RE: BS: Has Mudcat Become Bitter? From: GUEST Date: 07 Mar 06 - 07:21 AM If I were to guess, I'd say that the personal attacks reached the point that the clones started to delete them. And, that's ok by me. Might help some of the nasty posters to grow up. |
