Subject: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Midchuck Date: 19 Jun 01 - 12:52 PM About 49 hours 'till we hit the road! Can we get to another 100 posts by then? With any content whatever, that is? Peter. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: MMario Date: 19 Jun 01 - 12:54 PM sure, up the ante by demanding content in the posts... how many dare me to learn this to sing at old songs? and it's 72 stinking hours for me. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: GUEST Date: 19 Jun 01 - 01:24 PM Wear your Mudcat T-shirts, or acquire new ones there. That way we'll "see by your outfit that you're a Mudcatter." |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Burke Date: 19 Jun 01 - 01:32 PM I've got my t-shirt, but there's something else I prefer to wear. Maybe I'll throw it over my shoulder like a shawl. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Midchuck Date: 19 Jun 01 - 02:48 PM Got no Mudcat T-shirt (yet), but I'll probably have my AAFOUF hat on. There won't be many of those, I'm sure. Peter. |

Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: MMario Date: 20 Jun 01 - 11:41 AM hmmmmmmmm - not that I am volunteering anybody - but with another forum that meets at various events - we keep at notebook at the "meeting place" so people can "sign in" and also leave notes for each other. Nothing elaborate - just a notebook with a pen or pencil attached. There was a picnic table behind the booth last year. Sandy - could we leave a mudcat notebook there? |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: GUEST,JohnB Date: 20 Jun 01 - 12:27 PM Surely if you leave your notebook computer lying around it could get damaged or stolen or I hate to broach this one rained on. I will be the one wearing the 4 Morrismen of the Acopalypse or Arthur Black or Mill Race Folk Festival or Brampton Folk Festival Tee shirt. Those are I think the ones that were packed last night. That is until I manage to purchase a MudCat T. Unless, you don't mean a paper thingy notebook do you ?? do they still make those things ?? JohnB |

Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Charley Noble Date: 21 Jun 01 - 06:13 PM DON'T FORGET TO FEED THE PARROT!!!!! (You're supposed to shut that out the window as you tear out the driveway and those who are left behind invaribly shut back "WHAT PARROT?"). Sing a shanty or two for me, will you. I'll be working hard with Roll & Go entertaining the Society for Quality Control out at Diamond Cove and then helping to host the Observatory Shanty Swap Sunday evening. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Charley Noble Date: 21 Jun 01 - 06:15 PM Oh, shit, "shut" is supposed to read "shout"! So much for quality control.:-( |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: kendall Date: 21 Jun 01 - 06:17 PM I went the wrong way on the right road and wound up somewhere the other side of Scotia. Everyone I asked had never heard of Altamont. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 21 Jun 01 - 09:21 PM LOL Charlie! And the correct response to that is, "Oh, any parrot, bless you all!" I first "met" Flora Post when I was a little younger than the age she supposedly was in Cold Comfort Farm. It's still one of my favorites. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: MMario Date: 21 Jun 01 - 09:38 PM 20 does run through a very seedy part of albany...in fact it runs right through one of the few neighborhood I refuse to be in after sunset. |

Do I really want to sleep in the rain, eat in the rain, sing in the rain???? Having second thoughts but won't decide until tomorrow. I think I can. I think I can. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: GUEST,bbc at work Date: 22 Jun 01 - 12:40 PM Yes, SINSULL, you *do* want to go in the rain. It will be well worth it & we can get some shelter at the Folk Legacy booth. Do come; you'll regret it if you don't. Bring extra socks & shoes, raincoat, & umbrella. You'll be fine! :) The students left at 11 am, but I guess I need to stay till 2:30 pm. Bummer! bbc |

Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: SINSULL Date: 23 Jun 01 - 01:49 PM Woke up at 4AM to crashing thunder and lightening. Said "Screw it" and went back to sleep. Maybe, I'll drive up on Sunday AM. Maybe not. Kitten is thinking about having her letter on my bed. Her nesting boxes don't suit her. SIGH. I just had to toss the couch as a result of feline activities. SINS. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: GUEST,Marymac90 Date: 23 Jun 01 - 04:06 PM I did something similiar, Sinsull!!! I was gonna go, but the rainclouds and my depression discouraged me! ;-( Any chance you want company tomorrow? (It's a l o o n g way to drive alone for a day.....) If you do, i guess i oughta come to Queens tonite, knowing me. You may still have my #, or use my cell: 267-735-5081. Luvya, Marymac |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: Charley Noble Date: 23 Jun 01 - 04:13 PM Hopefully, Sins, your kitten is having a "litter" not a "letter" but then maybe she's literate like some of the other Mudcat cats. Sorry to hear that Old Songs didn't work out for you. It really is a much nicer experience when it's not an ordeal. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: SINSULL Date: 23 Jun 01 - 08:18 PM Thanks Charley. I would be better off if she were having a letter. I took in a little bitty stray who was being abused by some kids on the street. A neighbor rescued her but couldn't keep her because she raises birds and Alice got into the babies and scared them half to death. Even my vet didn't realize she was pregnant. Poor thing is so tiny except for her middle. She's not full grown yet herself. Do I sound like a nervous Nellie? Cats have litters on the street all the time without a problem - my current mantra. Marymac,my nephew is coming tomorrow to finish moving out. When he heard was home after all, he made plans. Sorry. But I will be at the Getaway. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs: YES! Parti le Troisieme From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 01 - 10:13 PM Sinsull, NEXT time we will have to plan ahead! I'm beginning to think I'm ready to give up camping! And it really does help motivate me if I plan to give someone a ride, or go with them. I think one difficult thing for me is the transition--just getting myself packed up, OUT of my apartment, and on the road! I did get my tent and sleeping bag into my car, and now I think I'll leave 'em there! So now I'm thinking about a longer trip later this summer, first to Falcon Ridge, in the Berkshires, and then to Champlain Valley, in Burlington, with visiting friends and mudcatters in between. Just leave home once, then keep on going! Marymac |
