Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: JedMarum Date: 02 Apr 04 - 09:04 AM I think we have to put an end to all the vegetable barbarism. It is a proven fact that plant-life, NOT animal life is the superior life form on this planet and our constant, careless slaughter of innocent grasses, shrubs, fruits and vegetables is certainly paving our way to a private Hell! I, for one, have stopped mowing my lawn and given up salads. Remember it was an apple that got Adam and Eve cast out of the garden, not a squirrel! |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Apr 04 - 07:57 PM Who said God wanted you to be anything? It's other people who want you to be this or that... The arguments in favour of vegetarianism have more to do with health, food production, and moral questions than with anything God was demanding of anyone. But diet has a lot to do with one's individual nature and one's surroundings. Meaning: if you live in a colder climate, you need to eat more meat and animal fat to generate sufficient internal heat. If you are cold...or short on yang energy, eating meat helps. If you are overloaded on yang energy, it's best to reduce meat intake. I've seen people who thrived on a lifelong vegetarian diet, and others who did not do so well on it. I've seen meat eaters who benefited from that diet, and those who suffered from it. Every case is unique, so there's no use making up rules about it. I've gone through periods when I ate a vegetarian diet...no problem. I've gone through periods when I didn't...again, no problem. Dave-O's point about Buffalo wings is striking! Note that winged buffalo are no longer seen anywhere. This is clearly due to overconsumption of buffalo wings and something should be done about it. I do not want a world in which children grow up without ever having seen a buffalo fly over their yard. - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Little Hawk Date: 04 Apr 04 - 12:34 PM When hunting flying buffalo, keep this in mind. Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Chief Chaos Date: 04 Apr 04 - 06:50 PM The rare flying buffalo requires a take-off/landing run of approximately 120'. In order to attract these rarely seen animals, one should park a recently washed and polished vehicle just down wind from the end of the landing strip with a trough of water and tub of sweetened oats and grain at hand at the upwind end. This will give them the lift they need while maneuvering and landing. The vehicle is for catching their fuel dump prior to landing (everyone knows that lightening the load provides for better handling at low speeds and safer landings in case of accident. |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: GUEST,David Carterhill Date: 06 Apr 04 - 08:48 AM jOhn from Hull, from your posts I can see why you're a licensed slaughterman and not a quantum physicist. Do your knuckles hurt as they're dragged along the ground? I doubt it, no sense no feeling. Meat eaters should at least be concerned that the animals are killed as humanely as possible. The more regulations to safeguard humane slaughter the better. |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: GUEST,Gunboy Date: 06 Apr 04 - 11:32 AM I believe when you kill an animal the first thing to worry about is doing it as cheap as you can. I remember back on the farm when we got overrun with cats the city folk dropped off, I used to tie the tails of 3 or 4 cats together and hang them over a barb wire fence so I could get the whole bunch with only one shot. |

Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Rapparee Date: 06 Apr 04 - 12:47 PM If you're going to eat anything, cooked or raw, plant or animal, it's gonna be dead. Get used to it. (As for those that eat only fruit that falls naturally from a tree -- that's nature's way of trying to reproduce, and they're eating the unborn. And CJ -- it could be only you that's laughing at, you know.) |
Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: GUEST Date: 06 Apr 04 - 03:27 PM "If you're going to eat anything, cooked or raw, plant or animal, it's gonna be dead." You don't say!! I didn't realise folkies were so philosophical. "As for those that eat only fruit that falls naturally from a tree -- that's nature's way of trying to reproduce, and they're eating the unborn." Oh the bastards! *sob* "And CJ -- it could be only you that's laughing at, you know." I doubt it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Apr 04 - 07:56 PM The very idea of a dumb folksinger is a contradiction in terms. You must vocalize in order to sing. :-) You have mouthed the corporate ethic in a nutshell, Gunboy. While destroying anything natural, the vital thing is to do it as CHEAPLY as possible. And that's why your job is being exported to China or the Phillipines or Mexico! :-) Have fun flipping burgers at Burger King. "If you're going to eat anything, it's going to be dead." NOT TRUE!!! You can easily eat small live fish and other small live animals or insects, and plants and fruits that are technically still alive at the time you eat them. You even get more chi (life force) out of them by so doing. The reason most people don't eat live animals is because they're too squeamish (the people, I mean). They don't mind the killing as long as it's done by someone else where they can't see it happening. Denial, denial, denial. It goes like that with war too..."let someone else do it". Very few of today's consumers would eat meat if they were required to kill the animal and butcher it...but if they lived in a survival mode out in nature for a bit they would soon learn how to deal with that, and then their meat would be honestly earned and consumed, probably with a far greater measure of respect. The motto of present North American society is this: "Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death" In the long run you die anyway, but do you do it with dignity? It's not easy when your life has been little but self-indulgence, conspicuous consumption, and denial. - LH |
Subject: RE: BS: Killing Animals From: Rapparee Date: 06 Apr 04 - 08:53 PM LH, it might be living when it goes into your mouth, but after you've eaten it it's dead -- especially if you chew your food.
