NOBODY KNOWS YOU WHEN YOU'RE DOWN AND OUT - (Jimmy Cox)

Once I lived the life of a millionaire (C-E7-A7)
Spending my money, with never a care (Dm-A7-Dm-A7-Dm)
Takin' all my friends out for a mighty good time (F-B7-C-A7)
Drinkin' high-priced liquor, champagne and wine; (D7-G7)

Then I began to fall so low; (C-E7-A7)
Didn't have a friend, and no place to go (Dm-A7-Dm-A7-Dm)
If I ever get my hands on a dollar again (F-B7-C-A7)
I'm gonna squeeze it, until the eagle grins, cause (D7-G7-C)

* Nobody knows you when you're down and out.(C-E7-A7-Dm-A7-Dm)
* In your pocket, not one penny (F-B7-C-A7)
* And your friends you find you haven't any. (D7-G7)

But as soon as you get back on your feet again (C-E7-A7)
Everybody wants to be your long-lost friend (Dm-A7-Dm-A7-Dm)
It's mighty strange, with out a doubt (F-B7-C-A7)
Nobody knows you when you're down and out.(D7-G7-C)

Brendy, there's a way to do it, but I forget. Can somebody help us remember - how do I post a link that will open something in a new window?
-Joe Offer-
Oh, AndyG has an example here. Put a space and then target=new right after the URL, still within the <angle brackets>.
-Joe Offer-
<a href=http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?ThreadID=12082#93364 target=new>here</a>

Walter, I posted your chords idea in the Mudcat HTML Guide. It's a slick idea.

Brendy, over at vocal.local.ie UBB code is used. Here we use pure HTML.

Joe, I have to correct you. If you use target=new the link will open the url in a browser window with the name new (if it does not exist, a new window with name new is created, but if it already exists, no new window is created).

To get a brandnew, unused, fresh ... window, you have to use target=_blank. _blank is not a name of a window, it is the order to create a new window.

If you click on two links with target=new, you have one window showing the url of the last-clicked link.
If you click on two links with target=new, you have two windows, one showing the url of the first link, the other the url of the second link.
(It even works with only one link: with _blank you get a new window every time you click on the link, with any other target name including new you get exactly one window)

Oh-oh, the copy and paste devil was here. Of course it should read (corrected part in red):

If you click on two links with target=new, you have one window showing the url of the last-clicked link.
If you click on two links with target=_blank, you have two windows, one showing the url of the first link, the other the url of the second link.

Good man Mudguard.
I only came upon the place by accident, and hidden away in it's FAQ was that page. Rather than instigate a discussion on UBB (which I know nothing of), I'll go off and have a look into the differences between the 'styles'(???)
Unless, of course, you feel like giving a brief synopsis!!
Thanks for that, and thanks again, Joe.

Brendy, almost correct.
You should put " not only after the url but also before it!
Though Internet Explorer does not crash because of this (one of the few reasons why it does NOT crash ;-) ) other browsers might get problems with unmatched "s.

Forgive my ignorance again, but I marked no difference in the result between the 'fat americans' link, which was 'target=_blank', and that last one. What should I have 'experienced'?

Once again:
click twice (not doubleclick but click pause click) on the link with target=new and you have one window.
click twice on the link with target=_blank and you have two windows.

As long as there is no browser window with the given name around the behaviour is the same.
But as soon as you have a brouser window with the given name, instead of creating a new window the window with the given name is used again.

Help please! I've done something wrong with the HTML in the previous two posts. What I would ideally like is to display the image from the nominated URL at approx. the size of (say) a playing card or packet of fags. Regards, John

PS I've written a Mudcat Notation Guide which I'd like to finish off, but this part of the HTML eludes me.

Apart from the question whether it is allowed to do this (copyright and Mudcatiquette), you have to give the size in pixels (or alternatively in percent of the window size, but this tends to distort images). Or you do not give the size, then the image is displayed in its original size (which is in your case a good approx to your requirement).
To place it in the center (what you tried to do with align="middle"), you have to put it in a center tag (align does not work for images - heaven knows why).
So to do what you wanted, the code is: <center><img SRC="http://www.jazclass.aust.com/bt111.gif" ALT="Music Notes and Rests" ></center>

<font color="green">green</font>
<font color="yellow">yellow</font>
<font color="purple"> purple</font>

The colored text is whatever you type in. Everything else must be the same, though.
