Sounds like a great evening in prospect is ANdrew the guy from Doncaster that was so impressive a couple of months back?
And shall really look forward to Nette & have never seen then yet.
Second half looks good Dave and Julie are great fun and their materiel is excellent stuff.

Lets hope they keep their knickers on this time!
The sound man gets too distracted when they start chucking G strings around.
I would do MC for you mate but as I already apologised about in private,I am not 100% sure will be there for whole evening so come on you regulars step up to the Big Hookers shoes and give the lad a break or..... you may have to put up with me mumbling and ranting again.(well first half anyway)
Is there a thread for this saturdays extravaganza that we MISSED!

Looking forward to Friday!
I have heard all the other acts on the programme, before, ( that is unusual for me because MRFC offer such a wide range of acts, old and new, that there are usually a couple that are new to me...) and know that they will provide a brilliant evening's entertainment with good quality music. (Not being paid to say that, honest!)
Can't wait to give the long-suffering Terry his usual headache when he soundchecks us for our set...as always, I know he will get it spot on after much hair-tearing out! (I blame mello cello but he always tries to blame my accordion and piano ...)
Am shocked at the attempts to lower the thread's tone, so early...Wild Wolds Women will be providing music suitable for all ages and a family audience... LOL

We just got back from Tatershall Castle had a great time listening to some excellent music in a fabulous setting.
Weather stayed fine and the singers in tune.
Thanks for the invite SooZ and the welcome we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and the time absolutly flew.

I would like to get a recording of us playing on friday to use for improving our set for future outings.

Now I am not sure that would be apropriate V.
I think there must be many attendees who are much better at explaining why some thing was good to listen,rather than just saying that it was,like I do.
As far as the minidisc thing goes I think will skip that idea as dont know about the cable required and no way of finding out.Bums!
Oh well we will have to stick with our plans to get some recording done after this gig.

Shame about not getting the Harriwatts Band gig for Helian Keys to support.I guess you wanted me there anyway Les as a huge fan of the band.If anyone not seen them,then put it in diary as a must see gig later in the year.
By the way Tim,that big yellow thing that hangs in the sky of a morning is pollution,that indirectly provides all the work round here.It is even better on nights,coz they can pump even more out while others sleep.Better MRFC is glad it nearly always blows to Europe via Hull most days.Sleep well.

Windward resident jazz and folk guitar and sax man , apprentice busker and my support musician, Chris Flegg was on BBC 3 counties radio this week , full interview and 4, yes 4 of his songs from his recent CD were featured.


And he's got a support gig to les barker's appearance at Amersham on sat 7th Oct

Each act did a very good set and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I know Tim won't be able to say much about his set, but I can honestly say that Tim & Jen did really well opening the evening up.

Thoroughly enjoyed the night tonight. Was really varied and a lovely atmosphere. Was nice all the performers stayed and supported one another.
G&T did their usual brilliant job on the sound desk, too.
