Subject: RE: BS: Brexit and other UK politics thread 4 From: r.padgett Date: 10 May 26 - 01:25 PM OK I see that Nationalisation is the in word ~ well I tell you UK is BROKE hence Gordon Brown seeking capital to bolster the Govts monies Post office Scandal WASPI scandal Taxation ~ no upping Free pay ~ led to discontent shown in election Upping NiCs on very low pay Upping basic pay (paid by employer so no Govt charge) Water bail out for Thames (sorry) Other Water companies will still have employees so tight control needed whether private or Nationalised ~ can't really afford it Move away from Oil dependence over time to renewables Align with EU but no big charges ~ on trade to be watched Definitely no dependency on US WE cannot let that Trump and others in. Farage would put us in with US and we would have the devil of a job getting out Harriet Harman to placate the WASPIs who would have been very upset last election and to watch other women's problems NHS is a BIG financial problem no privatisation as such UK is BROKE and cannot afford what is really needed ~ see above We are very vulnerable ~ Defence needs upgrading urgently IN light of all this Sir Keir is taking urgent steps to get funding elsewhere ~probably and hopefully with Gordon Brown's help Go for it Sir Keir Btw all parties make promises but remember it is WE the population that are "lender of last resort" not the Bank Of England the taxpayer pays we carry the can Ray |

Subject: RE: BS: Brexit and other UK politics thread 4 From: r.padgett Date: 12 May 26 - 01:19 AM Sir Keir is in a sticky place at the moment and there are calls for his leaving on a phased basis I do not agree he is now got his back to the wall and grasping what is needed for UK We in UK are having a hard time that will get worse Taxation of the population is very unpopular ~we do need a cash injection/loan and help too many debts Contracts armament companies imv are needed to use the steel being produced and will improve GDP and cash flow Ray |
