I have noticed some interesting "handles" that people use, here. My handle is my first name and a family reference for Goldberg. How did some of you come by yours?

Errr... mine should be obvious - except I use "k" to differentiate from the painter Dominicos Theotokopoulos, the original El Greco.

Another method of choosing handles is to match the style with the drawers and cupboards.

But, due to popular demand, I will post here what I posted there:

None were more surprised than Ken, when a wounded deer ran willy-nilly (See Exhibit "C") from the forrest, hitting Ken and knocking him from the path of the bizarre Reverend's truck.

Emotionally moved and psychologically disturbed by the noble deer's deed, Kne (who often mis-types his name, putting the "n" where the 'e' should be...see exhibit 12) shouted to his entourage (who follow him 24/7), "I AM kHANDU!!!!"

None dared doubt the truth of it.

i was listening to Paul brady singing Arthur MacBride, and it features a wee little drummer who roused up the camp with a rowdy dow dow in the morning.

Neither to date have I ever roused up the camp in anybody, apart from that business with my history teacher....poor old sod.

"Azizi" is a KiSwahili personal name that was given to me as an African free name* in the late 1960s.

Sometimes when I sign my Mudcat posts I will add "Ms" or "Sista" to my name because a number of people here who are unfamiliar with the name "Azizi" and who have never seen me have mistaken me for a male.

* "African free names" was the term used in the late 1960s and 1970s to refer to Arabic and traditional African first names and-less frequently-last names that African Americans {and possibly other Black people} adopted in place of their European or Hebrew birth names. These birth names were called "slave names".

To cite a well known example, heavyweight boxing champion Cassius Clay changed his name to "Muhammad Al" when he converted to Islam. However, for many African Americans like myself who were given or who self-selected new names, this change had nothing to do with religious conversion. Instead it had much to do with honoring our African heritage.

Besides, I welcomed the opportunity to change my name because I
