In light of the US Congress passing a law against gauging insulin prices, there is coincidentally a global shortage. My pharmacy has canceled my prescription for insulin pens and has a pathetic excuse that flies in the face of stated facts that pharmacy supplies are unaffected and only Dr. samples are recalled.

Insulin is not the only drug that is now in dangerously short supply.
There are inferior alternatives available for many at this time.

Big Pharma is pushing back at the negotiating power Medicare now has. And the GOP has a bill written just to remove that negotiating power that was passed earlier this year. Biden may need to stomp on the drug makers to get them to play nicely.

A sudden global shortage is suspicious but 80 million is a lot of new diabetics.

That article may be four years old but it is still a current problem around the world.

New Zealand.

And even FAUX news in the US has noticed: Insulin shortage might be next supply chain crisis (from June this year).

Both Walgreens and CVS claim Tresiba and all its brand names are on backorder. It is owned by a single company.
How long is not known. Why is a different question and has different answers.
