Subject: Aug Bank Hol, Wots on [Fests]UK From: Mr Happy Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:21 AM Looking for cheap camping+ fest on the Aug Bank Hol w/end. All these either too expensive or inappropriate: http://www.towerseyfestival.com/ http://freewebs.com/solfest/index.htm http://www.bridgnorthfolkfest.co.uk/ http://www.cornwallfolkfestival.com/ http://www.bluesfestival.co.uk/ http://www.folk-roots.co.uk/ Any suggestions? |

Trouble is, all the best singers/musicians/acts/trade stalls tend to be where the money is ~ the bigger, expensive, well known festivals. LTS |

Subject: RE: Aug Bank Hol, Wots on [Fests]UK From: Liz the Squeak Date: 09 Aug 05 - 05:20 AM If you are a member of the Camping & Caravanning club, they might have campsites close to festivals, usually works out cheaper especially if you only do fringe stuff. Or there may be other private campsites nearby, which would also work out cheaper but might have late night entry restrictions. Good luck! LTS |

Subject: RE: Aug Bank Hol, Wots on [Fests]UK From: Liz the Squeak Date: 09 Aug 05 - 05:46 AM There are some campsites that refuse entry to vehicles after 11.00pm because it disturbs other campers.... Certainly some of those run by the C&CC have such restrictions. For instance this site near Oxford would be the closest for Towersey, but it's still a good 8-10 miles away and you have to arrange in advance if you arrive after 8pm. LTS |

Subject: RE: Aug Bank Hol, Wots on [Fests]UK From: Splott Man Date: 09 Aug 05 - 06:59 AM Cardiff Harbour festival is on, with a strong music content biased towards Celtic (naturally). Lots of other stuff there too, street entertainers, shanty singers and such. Depends what you call appropriate. |
