Just for laughs, I clicked on some of those links. Look what's on sale at the drinkee link!

BENOIT SERRES - Violette Liqueur   Was £17.79 - Now £16.21
70cl Bottle £ 16.21 Buy
6x 70cl Bottles £ 97.28 Buy
A violet-flavoured liqueur made with the oil of violets and vanilla.

Now, I might have some Violet flavoured gum or losenges occasionally, but you mean to tell me that you UKers drink this stuff? Eeeeeewwwwwww.
That'd be like drinking perfume, no?

Oh by the wa.. SANTA!
I've tried ever so hard to be good. please don't send me coal since it's of no use to me. Los Angeles is very warm! Please also, do not send me any Violette Liqueur. If I were so inlined, I have plenty of stinky perfume to drink.

I hope you are well Santa. Please tease me a little. it's so much more fun that way.

My Secret Santa present has arrived, YAY!!!   And unlike Sinsull's mine has no annoying sign on it telling me to wait until Christmas. If fact, I was instructed to open mine immediately and mail off the additional items to unsuspecting individuals who will then think that the Anchorage postmark is where they originated. Thank you Santa, my present is great.

I always appreceate a good mind game. So if you get something postmarked Anchorage, Alaska, it MAY or MAY NOT be from me. You will just have to wait until Christmas to find out. I love this secret sh*t.

Happy Hollidays to all,
Mike

The weather is cold, it is almost December, and it begins to feel like Christmas! I have a wonderful stack of cards and packages from my Secret Santa and am going to begin to work through the puzzles of map and compass orienteering here, of map reading and Mudcat research for there (UK), and a little timely unpacking of packages for all.

I hope to report back very soon!

Hello, Smugly Smiling (Stress-reduced) Secret Santa! ...and thank you for referring to me as a "young" "lady" (I wouldn't call myself either one, but all things are relative, I suppose... *grin*). I await your delivery elves' delivery with bated breath.

Hmmm, I wonder if they could throw in a molar to replace the one I broke Thanksgiving Eve? All I want for Christmas is my one back tooth! (My dentist says I'll have to settle for a crown on New Year's Eve's Eve...)

Blue tits? You get those by standing too long at the Number 1 bus stop in January without your woolly vest.

Now to my agenda: My Secret Santa doesn't think my work wardrobe is up to much -- Gee whillickers, you mean to say you elf people can peer in the windows of National Defence Headquarters? Doesn't that upset the military police? Or are you the military police?

That would explain the red cap.

I'm not sure a purple stripe in my hair is really suitable for a middle-aged lady editor. Filed teeth, on the other hand ... or a bone through the nose ... ?

Oh crap bother - your Santa won't let me send off the Moose head. I'd cleaned it up quite a lot, too. Now what am I supposed to do with it? No, don't bother to answer that.

Actually, you're right with your guess - your Santa does indeed play own a banjo - does that get you any closer?

I've been reading last year's threads (part of me job description, innit?) and I see you were jumping to conclusions about your Santa then, too.

Thank you for not allowing that idiot elf who was probably part of last year's conspiracy to send me a moth eaten moose head. The blow up one is trouble enough.
For that, I will be a good girl and stop shaking the package, soaking it in water to see if it floats, etc. Only 21 more days to go.

ShadyLady,

I apologise profusely for having gone missing for so long; this time of year is the worst for becoming ill, especially if you have people expecting things of you...

So long as you aren't offended by creatures of the feline persuasion, I think I know just what to send you. ;) Any last-minute suggestions would be helpful, however. It appears you're into the gothic style... is there any specific element or variety you prefer?

No, Micca, I didn't post way back when. I sent a PM to Liz to alert her to the situation. She assures me that this other person is not another "official" secret santa. So, it looks like you're a popular man and have two santas. Your pressie is due to arrive at your doorstep around the middle of December, if it hasn't already. It's from the USA.

Hello, Dear Limpet!

I know I haven't posted any new hints in a long time, but there have been some technical diffeculties here at Secret Santa Central that made posting rather diffecult. I hope, however, to get your package in the post to you before the week is out.

In the meantime, I thought you'd like to see what Spethan, the Typo Gremlin looks like. He's the one agreed to help me wrap your pressies, and get them in the mail. If you click here, you can see a picture of him.

As you can see, he has very long fingers, and an extra pinky on each hand. That extra pinky is his "pixie pinky" and it's a magic finger. He uses it to change letters in the words you type, and he can sometimes change things he touches, too.

He assures me, however, that he will be very careful when wrapping your pressies, and where magic-proof gloves. I sure hope they're heavy-duty, because I wouldn't want you to get the wrong pressie!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Yours, with fond regards,
L.E.

well, your package is on its way - 8120 miles, or 13068 km, or 7056 nautical miles (whatever you prefer) as the sandhill crane flies. Of course, neither Santa's jackalopes nor any more mundane method necessarily goes in a straight line. Amazingly, in an unusual fit of governmental efficiency (or lies), it seems that the faster methods of mailing a package that distance are also the least expensive. Please do not open until the Solstice Holiday of your choice...or before you get it, if you are the impatient sort.
