First, I must tell you that we all owe you. I have maintained all along that this is a community, a very special community of caring people, folkies all in one way or another. There are two sides to every coin. The bad part is that someone very dear to all of us was in trouble. A literal battle for life. The good piece is that someone very dear to all of us, in his sickness, united us and cemented this wonderful place as a community. In his illness, he brought his wonderful family to us, which deepened and enriched our understanding of the complex litter box denizen we have come to love as Catspaw49. Read the threads. We revelled in your every victory and were saddened by every setback. As bards, our empath abilities caused us to feel Karen's worry, let us sense Clarence's brave face, made us worry for two boys who had to be scared and confused, and let us experience the living miracle of friends such as Wayne and Connie. We know you, Pat, perhaps in a way that is uncomfortable for you. But we truly are bonded in a very special way. Thanks, and you are welcome.

Now clean the damn box. It's your turn.

Love ya,

Mick

What a group.........Thanks again for all you've done; I wouldn't have made it without you.

Now I have fingers softening and guitars needing restrung from LACK of usage and my typing has receded back to gawd-awful from pretty pathetic. Art my friend, you're right. I am going to take it easy, but you can bet your buns I'm gonna' take it!!!

Cletus and Paw are out and about again, but they called and said they're on the way back and are they in for a shock. Seems they may have been been wrong about the accident with Buford...either that or he's risen from the dead. I'll let you all know as soon as I get the details, but suffice it to say that Buford called here last night and damn near sent me into another relapse!!!!! I'll put it all in one thread to get some of you caught up as soon as I get the whole story. 'Course I'm not real sure I want it. Be watchin' for the whole weird story in a day or two.

Now I've stumbled upon this forum briefly in past months, but lately I've become quite a regular...and I am thrilled to know that you, Catspaw, are back in the swing of things. From what I've heard others say, I am looking forward to witnessing your antics...Now, do I know what I'm getting myself into saying that??? Perhaps not...

Welcome back!

You know, Cats, I am starting to worry about you again. Not your health, either. It's just that in your absence and with all the struggle you've been through we've got you on a bit of a pedestal now. I have heard you called "blessed one", "the one who brought Mudcat together as a community", shoot I even prayed for you on the night before your operation. In Public.

It's not that I don't think the world of you, but we are all in a kind of awe of you right now, like you were Moses coming down from the mountain. And, well Hell, Catspaw I don't think you'd be too comfortable with that kind of adulation. So look here, this is what we need: some hilarious but crude condom joke, or one of your famous x-rated Oklahoma parodies, or some stream-of-consciousness tiple Neil Young Hunter S Thompsonesque flight of fantasy that leaves us blushing w/ embarrassment while scratching our heads and laughing out loud. It would break the ice as surely as Jesus ripping a fart at the Last Supper.

And don't let me pressure you.I know you've got some warming up to do. But when you are ready- Cut loose!

Sincerely, LEJ

My wishes have come true! Catspaw is back home and recuperating. Bill D. and Ferrara are back on-line. And Mick is even finding time to post.

It is a wonderful end to a wonderful vacation.

Welcome home Catspaw!

Catspaw,

You have the Mudcat record for the most posts on one subject, perhaps formerly held by "Where is Spancil Hill?" or perhaps "How Old is a Mudcat?"

About Catspaw - Please read 106 posts

About Catspaw - Part II 116 posts

About Catspaw - Part III 8 posts

Catspaw, the Recovery - Part III 82 posts

Catspaw the Relaspe 96 posts

Donate Blood for Catspaw 14 posts

Catspaw the Recovery 104 posts

And of course, the current "Catspaw the Homecoming" and this thread. Quite an impressive record. Of course, if I were you and had to do it all over, I'd skip all this sickness and get on with that quiet weekend with Karen.

Holy Zot Batman!!!!! All joking aside...more posts than "Spancil Hill?" Hey RiB, I just referred to you elsewhere as our statistician (such as the # of guitars Rick has owned vs. stolen) but I didn't need to know this one.......I feel embarrassed, ashamed, proud, humble to be in the same numbers as "Spancil Hill"

......You're right Rib, let me trade it for a weekend with Karen. But in all humility and seriousness, thank you all.

Tiple? or is it Tipple? So are Cletus and Paw in the band or are they the band or have they absconded with the band's lead tippler, Clara Whipple? I had this vision of her tied to some railroad tracks in Lancaster, (the State name was not part of the vision). If I click on the little speaker thingee in the bottom right hand corner of my screen, can I hear the tiplers tipling? (or is that tipplers, tippling?) Could we arrange for me to be met at Shaw's on the square by the band? I will remind you once again (to give you a chance to run for cover), I will be in town on June 4th. I will bring tiple treats incase the guys can make it. Love to all.......Clarence

...at a loss for words, but WELCOME BACK!

And thanks for getting ill, because without your recent troubles, we'd never have gotten to know and love Karen and Clarence so well! And they're treasures to US too, even beyond whatever they do for you and mean to you.

So spend some time recovering gently and thoroughly, and then prepare to have us all descend and hold Mudstock '99-1/2 in your backyard litterbox.

I changed my screen name...there seem to be several Rita's on here...I love happy endings and this is starting to look like that's where we are all headed in this tale...anyone writing a "folksong" yet? Well happy chuckles to all, a big thanks to the powers that be and welcome back.
