Subject: Folklore: Logging in PNW USA thesis From: GUEST,mg Date: 18 Oct 07 - 08:15 PM darn..I lost the url. Don't have time to look for it..about logging songs in the PNW USA...from Univ of FLorida...I was looking up Jens LUnd's email so do a google under Jens Lund Washington folklore 2007 and it should pop up or I iwll put it in later. Anyway, just glancing at it it looks quite interesting. (hoping that someone takes the bait and finds the lost url). mg |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Logging in PNW USA thesis From: katlaughing Date: 18 Oct 07 - 09:41 PM Well, with that bit I found Bob Antone's cd I am definitely going to buy! And, this info from there: Leslie Johnson, a student completing her master's degree in ethno musicology at Florida State University recently completed her graduation thesis regarding "Logging Songs of the Pacific Northwest" which includes music from the Antone family and Bob Antone. After having spent the last ten years working with Native Americans from various tribes Bob has incorporated song, rhythm, and melody of indigenous origin to his family folk style. |
