She arrived on the 'rurl lurcamurtive' wearing an extraordinary yellow hat which would have been clearly visible from Goole. I understand it was wild mushroom tart and fillet steak for lunch -obviously Bob Carvers didnt win the contract then. I didnt spot Les from Hull waving the Union flag in the crowd. She went to The Ferens Art Gallery too-obviously to catch Oakley's portrait in the Open Exhibition. Vive La Republic say I!

So we've started letting royalty in again, have we? No bloody sense of tradition. (I live a just a few rods, poles or perches away from the Beverley Gate, where in 1642 the folks 'from Hull' told King Charles I that he couldn't come in - he was probably wearing trainers - and that he'd better have a Civil War.)
