Wasn't it Dostoevsky? (or Tolstoy?) Anyway, it wouldn't be the same word in Russian, but it is in French.

So maybe the restaurant is named after the (French version) of that book?

This is a restaurant for weight watchers. It was supposed to be called "I Diet," but the owners can't spell.
