Anyone that visited Whitby folk festival week in the earlier days and after EFDSS had stopped organising will have probably known Malcolm's name

He was well know as a club organiser in Hull ~ as well as Whitby ~
His death will no doubt come as a shock to many

RIP Malcolm and condolence to family and friends

Ray

Richard Spencer gave me this sad news yesterday. Mally and I had a lot of time for Malcolm, and I was pleased to spend time with him and Judy in Aberdeen a year or so ago. He was a man who spoke plainly and stuck to his guns. He was also reliable and supportive of the performers he valued. We will all miss him. RIP and thank you Malcolm.

It's always sad to lose an advocate of folk music. He made a good contribution to our music and will be rightly remembered. I have added his name to the "In Memoriam" thread and send my condolences to all those who know and love him.

RIP

Often saw him at Whitby Folk Week, where he was known as Mr Whitby by some. Many artists over on Facebook acknowledging how he first brought them to the festival.
I didn’t really know him personally but had a wee conversation with him on another thread just a couple of weeks back.
