I just read someone's thread asking where big mick was playing. I live in michigan too, and I would love to know who else is involved with this site who is playing around michigan. I will be playing on Mackinac Island in late august, in ann arbor off and on over the summer, and I just picked up a weekly gig in Webberville of all places (at a brewery!) Who else is in michigan and where are you playing?

Hey Spartacus - some of us may not have seen the thread yet today... (yegodsandlittlefishes...)

My band is playing in Grand Rapids this Sunday - Big Mick's band is playing tonight in Grand Rapids (Festival of the Arts, downtown Grand Rapids) We're playing some "music in the park" stuff over the summer - Howard City, Ravenna, Grand Haven, etc., And at the Saline Celtic Fest in Saline, July 13. We're the closing act.

Cheers -

Pete

We play at Mackinac Island quite a bit during the lilac festival at Windmere point. Also the next two weekends at the Irish Pub

Hopefully, as it was last year, Mick's Conklin Ceili Band will be live on the web.......Click Here for Webcast Info and you can read all about the festival at the Main site. Mick plays at 9 PM on the Calder Stage.

Ok...Pete are we talking about the Saline that's south of ann arbor? Maybe you know a friend of mine named Dave Boutette. He does the open mic at the drowsy parrot...

Berk.. What is the bands name? or do you play alone? And by Irish Pub I'm guessing you mean kelly's, which is owned by some freinds of mine. You've probably talked to ron petit, I think he books the acts there...

I will definitly try to make it to the shows.. we michigan folks should swap e-mail addresses so we can keep each other updated. if anyone pm's me, I'll include you in my mailing list and we can keep a michigan support ring going....

Sparty, I think we need a Michigan gathering, maybe in Lansing or some place central. Cap'n Bob is also from the area. There are others. My band plays all over the state, as well as Indiana and Illinois.   Let's do a gathering.

Well, I play mainly in my own room and on Paltalk, but I'm another Michigan Mudcatter. I'm in Lansing, about 2 miles west of Elderly, and our house could probably handle 20-30 people for a daytime gather. As far as sleeping arrangements we're a bit more limited, although we have a king bed in the guest room, a queen size sofabed in the basement and a fair amount of floor space for anyone who wanted to bring sleeping bags or bedrolls.

I agree with Mick, we should probably plan a gathering. Anyone got any date suggestions?
