I have just re-read an old thread, "Any `Trekkies` also Folkie fans?".
A post by "McKnees" refers to the Anne McCaffrey`s Dragon Rider books comming to TV in in 2000. I havn`t heard anything about this in the UK so did it happen? Live action or animation? Is it comming here? Is it on Video or DVD? Anyone know anything?

Best I have been able to find out from a quick net search is that the production hit financial problems and the 2000 release date never happened. The latest I could find was an interview with Anne about a year ago where she was confident of an impending launch. Cant find anything more recent.

i've never heard nor seen of anything on tv, but there is a computer game called Dragonriders of Pern. It's not the greatest game, I don't like how they did the animation, but if you can find it cheap, it's probably worth it.

It was suppossed to come out for the fall season of 2001 - but fell through.
