Only had half a foot and he kicked the longest field goal in history....63 yards.....Is that still a record? I remeber reading alex Karras' book where he described that kick. Karras said he and the other Lions didn't even really rush the Saints and pretty much just turned around to get a good view of this laughable 63 yard attempt. I don't recall him ever kicking a goal, but he kicked a lot of ass!!! As I recall he did boot Gifford through the uprights didn't he? There was only one running back who was ever a match for Bednarik. Could the kicker have been named something common like Brown or Baker....kinda' sticks in my mind.
