Testing Mudchat now

I have set up a Mudchat room on ICQ (active list)

the number is 63040520.

If any ICQ-ers are about please can you try to access it so I can see if it is working.

Hope these instructions help for getting you in to the chat

Click on SERVICES near the bottom of your ICQ box.
Choose (AL) "ICQ Active list".
Go to "Find/Add an Active ICQ list".
The ICQ ActiveList Search Wizard box pops up (hopefully)
In the "Search by List ID" cut and paste (control-c for cut; control-v for paste) the number of the Mudchat list (63040520).
Click "next"
It should show the Mudchat title in the box
Click on "Add List" and MudChat should appear on your list.
Clicking on MudChat in your list should give you an option to "Join Chat Room" - go there.

See you in the chat!!!

Alison,

I've clicked on Add Users; Services; ICQ; and System Menu and none of them have an AL. I did a regular search and it said itcouldn't be found. I ma off to bed in a few, but will try it one more time. When I go to Services, there just isn't any AL there on my version. Sorry, kat

you need to update your version of ICQ to 99b Beta....

It isn't working at the moment... still trying to get it sorted.

Yo there Alison.
I found the list, and it is offline at the minute (08.45 CET). I have sent a request to join the AL, but I suppose that the room has to be open before that can happen. I'll try again this evening.

it is open brendy.. but for some reason folks can't get in...... i'll send you an invite.. to see if that works better...... go visible on ICQ

People may get the wrong idea if the following isn't said. I didn't want people to think Jon just dumped the previous list and walked away.

Jon Freeman had set up an active list which had 17 members. Then Jon left Mudcat. Jon told me he'd tried to transfer ownership over to Alison, but had problems with Microsoft error messages and couldn't get anywhere. He asked for my help, as he had previously made me a list administrator. I had the same problems as he did. He has since figured out the problem, but it doesn't matter since there's a whole new list.

Hi guys! It's really me - I'm using the dear hubby's computer since mine is tied up trying to reload ICQ on my machine (since I lost it when the C drive crashed a few weeks ago).

I'll try to get online with y'all this evening, if I get the thing to work -- but, it's moving *really* slow tonight. Keep your fingers crossed!
