Subject: Req: CD's in Chicago From: GUEST,Ruslan Date: 10 Oct 00 - 10:53 AM Hi, I'm in Chicago now. I couldn't find a shop to buy some rare CD's. I'm interesting in Blues, and Following labels: Document, Yazoo e.t.c. Tell me please where I can find it. Thanks. |

Subject: RE: Req: CD's shops in Chicago From: Mark Clark Date: 10 Oct 00 - 11:23 AM I'd start at the Jazz Record Mart, 444 North Wabash. If they don't have it, they can get it or give you a reference to track it down. The JRM was founded by Bob Koester, founder of Delmark Records, who was a well known collector and producer in the blues field. I haven't been there in many years but if it hasn't abandoned it's legacy, it should be a great place. If you decide to go there, come back and bring me up to date on it's current status. - Mark |

Subject: RE: Req: CD's shops in Chicago From: Jim the Bart Date: 10 Oct 00 - 06:42 PM Believe it or not, the Virgin Mega store on Michigan Avenue also has a lot of good stuff. There are also three or four good used music stores on Clark St. between Belmont and Diversey. You could look for Championship Vinyl, at Milwaukee and Honore, but if you found it, it would mean that you've suddenly become a character in the movie High Fidelity with John Cusack. Your best bet is the Jazz Record Mart. |
