Subject: supersearch down ? From: GUEST Date: 09 Dec 00 - 12:03 PM It seems that the servers which run the DT title search aren't working. This link: http://shorty.mudcat.org/!!-supersearch99.cfm?MaxHits=1&Command=search&NumLines=4&file=fall99&request=%5BDEAR+COMPANION%5D doesn't work. When I supstitute "loki" for "shorty" I get a connection failure. Anyone know of a workaround ? |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: Snuffy Date: 09 Dec 00 - 12:11 PM Put your request in the Digitrad Lyrics Search box. When that page comes up, click on the Supersearch box there. That's worked for me a few times. Another method is to try http://www.mudcat.org/@NewSSResults.cfm. Wassail! V |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: Jeri Date: 09 Dec 00 - 12:26 PM Unfortunately, I think Max has put the Supersearch only on Shorty.
Got a workaround though. From my copy of the DT: |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: Jon Freeman Date: 09 Dec 00 - 12:35 PM I can't find a workaround this time round. The loki version !!-supersearch99.cfm doesn't seem to work. I geuss that is why Max has set it to explicitly ask for shorty rather than www. The solution Suffy has given calls up a diferent version of the supersearch but the page NewSSResults.cfm does not appear to exist on Loki. The www URLs share the tasks between the 3 servers Loki,Ragtime and Shorty and loki is the only server that is running. Jon |

It's a pain in the ass way to do it, but it seems to work |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: Jon Freeman Date: 09 Dec 00 - 12:46 PM Thanks Snuffy. You could simplify that to: http://loki.mudcat.org/@ssdtresults.cfm Jon |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: T in Oklahoma (Okiemockbird) Date: 09 Dec 00 - 06:27 PM I'm trying to see if there has been any discussion in the forum about the resemblance between the tune Wayfaring Stranger and the melody for "Dear Companion" that was published in Olive Dame Campbell and Cecil J. Sharp, English Folksongs from the Southern Appalachians Song #58 (1917). First I want to verify whether the MIDI in the DT has the same melody as in Campbell & Sharp (1917). Snuffy's technique gets me through to the lyrics (thanks!), but unfortunately I still can't access the MIDI. Maybe one of the mirror sites has one ? T. |

Subject: RE: supersearch down ? From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Dec 00 - 01:37 AM Hi, T - Click for Wayfaring Stranger MIDI and see if it works. If you want to discuss the question any further, it would probably be a good idea to start another thread. Thanks. -Joe Offer- |
