Rock the cradle Lucy, rock the cradle high
and there is the wonderful one I learned from Martha Burns, who denied making it up |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rock the Cradle Joe From: GUEST,Pete Peterson Date: 12 Jul 01 - 05:27 PM don't know how to do midis. The tune I know (and have played for about 30 years under that name) is the one found near Round Peak and Galaxc and is first cousin to Sally Ann-- as Nancy Sluys once called it" the Surry County national anthem". That help l\place it? I can sing your words to my tune |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rock the Cradle Joe From: GUEST,Al Lubanes Date: 12 Jul 01 - 11:42 PM Pete, try pasting the url gave into your web browser's url window and hit enter. If your computer is capable of playing it, it will do it automatically. I'd format it as a link, except I don't know how. Maybe I'll try anyway. click here |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rock the Cradle Joe From: GUEST,Pete peterson Date: 13 Jul 01 - 01:07 PM Al-- it worked--(thanks!) and this IS indeed the tune I know so I don't understand why you don't believe the words I gave fit the tune. The tune is sung using only the "main notes" and not all the arpeggios-- just like Soldiers Joy-- try that?? (If all else fails write lutrine@hotmail.com, I'll give you my phone # and I'll sing it to you. Where do you live?) |
