Subject: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: Clinton Hammond Date: 29 Jun 04 - 11:09 AM So, I'll start this thread while I wade through the million go-zillion hits that google gives me... I have a ton of .wavs on my PC... and I wanna batch normalize 'em... Any software suggestions? |

Subject: RE: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: Clinton Hammond Date: 29 Jun 04 - 11:25 AM Yes... volume leveling... Will MM+ do it in batches though? I wanna change 'em all at once, like MP3Gain does with MP3s... Will Audacity for that matter? |

Subject: RE: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: mack/misophist Date: 29 Jun 04 - 01:02 PM I know audacity only through linux. A quick look at the manual implies that it will do what you want but it specifically says that batch jobs should be run with sox (the swiss army knife of audio processors). |

Subject: RE: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: Clinton Hammond Date: 29 Jun 04 - 01:15 PM Nevermind... My copy of Jet-Audio converted them to MP3s... I ran 'em through Mp3Gain, and then converted 'em back to WAvs... Clunky, but it got the job done... If anyone finds a program like MP3Gain, but fer wavs, lemme know :-) |

Subject: RE: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: Clinton Hammond Date: 29 Jun 04 - 03:19 PM Sorry... but it appears that Audacity only does this one track at a time... And with 650 +wav files, that's not an option.... And well, glancing over the FAQ, and manuals for Audacity... it looks like you get what you pay for... So thanks but no... |

Subject: RE: Tech: *.Wav Normalization From: treewind Date: 29 Jun 04 - 05:06 PM In that case you do want normalize, and it seems there's a Windows port: Normalize home page Or just download http://www1.cs.columbia.edu/~cvaill/normalize/normalize-0.7.6-cygwin.zip (I haven't tried this, but I'm familiar with the Linux version) If it's like the Linux utility (most likely) you just open a MSDOS command line in the directory where all the files are - like I said earlier: C:\PATH\TO\MY\WAV\FILES\> normalize *.WAVThere won't be a faster way!
