Funny sort of folk club, if you ask me. Do not confuse with the Oxford Folk Club at the Port Mahon. Anahata |
Subject: RE: Spiers & Boden Oxford gig 15.11.05 From: greg stephens Date: 07 Nov 05 - 06:34 AM The Jericho has got a distinguished folk history, Ibelieve. Now, first of all I need to add the usual qualifications about remembering things that happened in the 60's. having said that, my recollection of the Oxford Univerity's Heritage Society(folk club), and its peregrinations round pubs, is that when we moved from Gloucester Green to Jericho(area) there was a brief period at the Jericho(pub), as well as the longer time at the Bakers. Possibly the Jericho(pub) time was in the middle of the Bakers era...perhaps the Bakers function room closed for refurbisment or something? Trouble is I was drinking enough beer in those days to make it remarkably difficult to remember which pub I was in. |
