Red and yellow cards were only introduced in 1970 I believe. You are correct that a sending off suspension was reversed in 1962.

Listening to Trump it would appear that he knows next to nothing about football. He did once tell Jimmy Greaves that he had played football (or soccer as he called it) when he was younger. I tend not to believe a word that he says.

Teams were told that they could not appeal against red cards. All except one team it seems.

Maybe England might appeal against last nights red card.

It's nice that the US did so well this time, but not even Trump and an overturned red card could deal with just meeting a better team. Belgium just played like a team that might go all the way.

   It's interesting to me that the major national teams all have players who come from other countries. Places like Panama, Haiti, Curaçao and Uzbekistan don't get many immigrants.

   Even Balogun was only eligible for the US because he was born in Brooklyn while his Nigerian mother was visiting.

I would say that the heat in Miami looked and probably was excessive ~ all the players were suffering from the heat ~ Mexico game was hot and the thin air to contend with

Bellingham was the man and youth certainly help ~Haarland had had enough
as well

spain seem to play a rather boring game which consists of keeping the ball and just passing between themselves, not very entertaining,
a bit like the idea in cricket of not getting out, something Trevor Bailey was good at staying in and scoring about 2 runs in an hour he made Boycott look like a greyhound on amphetamines

Mrs Backwoodsperson and I will be supporting Spain on Sunday night, especially in view of their Prime Minister Sanchez’s stand against Trump’s/Netanyahu’s wars in the Middle East, and the abuse Spain has received recently from the fat, demented, orange baboon. What can we say about Touchel the England manager, how incompetent was that. He is an experienced manager, wont the C League with Chelsea, German league with Dortmund, managed B Munich etc. If your winning 1 - 0 with 5 mins to go ok bring extra defenders on and park the bus, but not with 30 - 35 minuites to go against Messi and co. If it wasnt for thatI recon England would have won, even by 2 - 0.

LOts of clip video avidence regarding the fouling tactics of Argentine players against England

The shirt pulling and tripping pushing and general bad play should have been punished ~ but It does look like that was preferred style of play

One comment read was Argentina was team of two halves

The ball players played in second half

Yes any teen scoring first is likely to lose, play should have been to score as many as possible, not defend!

These tactics have been used many times, Jose Mourinho has been famouse for anti football tactics wherever he has managed, and such teams allways seam to get away with it. Argentina have allways had world class players, but also DBs, just look back to 1966 when Alf ramsey a polite well spoken man called them out after they tried to kick England off the park. Incidently when Celtic Played Athletico Madrid in the European Cup in 1974, 3 Athletico players were sent of after they more or less tried to assassinate Jimmy Johnston, the 3 that got sent off were Argies specially selected for that spacific job. The Athletico manager was also an Argie ie Juan Carlos Lorenzo. ok thats my rant over, peace be with you.
