I thought Vicky was going to have something nasty- and I'm shocked at Adam and Pavel!


It'll either be a Down syndrome or miscarriage storyline I imagine, since we can't have any straightforward happy stories any more on the Archers.

I do think the writing has improved in the last couple of weeks- have they got rid of the new writers who wrote such out-of-character rubbish recently?

I sort of think of the BBC editorial staff as being in the same league as facebook. When it comes to listening to the punters!
No BBC producer, or even director, has ever admitted they might have been wrong, when asked onto Feedback on Radio4, to answer criticism from listeners.
Self justification, and Auntie knows best, seem to me the order of the day.

Rusty Dobro - I reckon the singer was probably Tom Forrest, played by Bob Arnold, who grew up in Oxfordshire and was heard singing quite a few times (including "The Village Pump")over the years. I think John Heydon hoped to get him to the National Festival one year, but he was a bit too frail by then...

A couple more predictions:

1. Kirstie decides she can't bring herself to play Maid Marian and is replaced by . . . Helen, who plays it so convincingly that it causes trouble between Rob and Jess.

2. (Maybe not just yet though) Ian reveals that he is Henry's father.

Rob has had an engagement ring made for Helen, and got the size right by borrowing a ring, at random, from her dressing table. When Caroline got engaged a few years back it was the same story.
I am neither married nor engaged, so if someone took one of my rings, the only finger it would be guaranteed NOT to fit would be the ring finger on my left hand.

PS The first prediction above was wrong - but I'm still holding out for the second.

As you know, I don't listen to The Archers, but wasn't tonight's outcome good! I think that the Tony/Pat/Tom/Helen axis should tell Titchener to sling his hook, otherwise they'll get him for abuse. There are legal precedents. Or maybe Rob will lose it and go for a kidnap. Nah. C'mon, Justin. Sack the bugger before he's even started!

Of course, I hope that any of you who actually listen will keep me updated, as I clearly don't follow it...

I kind of saw the Kirstie/ Tom thing coming ( excuse the pun), well, didn't we all but not sure it's very convincing. And that's two couples doing the 'friends with benefits' thing. Oh Archers, how modern you are becoming, totally down with the kids. And yes certainly I will keep you appraised of incidents, Steve, although I hardly ever listen to it myself either.
