Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: r.padgett Date: 06 Jul 26 - 04:22 PM “I saw the play, and I’m a person that loves sports. That wasn’t a foul,” Trump said. “That wasn’t even an infraction… this referee, who is a little bit suspect if you check his past. He made a call that nobody could believe… he’s our best player, or one of our best players. And he gave him a red card. The ref should act against the little t's suggestion that he was not even handed etc Trump is out of order and keep his gob shut ~ yes not all actions are strictly correct but to select one and not many others is against the spirit of the game ~ but Trump does not care or understand the football game ~played largely with feet Go home Trump Ray |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Rain Dog Date: 06 Jul 26 - 07:44 PM Red and yellow cards were only introduced in 1970 I believe. You are correct that a sending off suspension was reversed in 1962. Listening to Trump it would appear that he knows next to nothing about football. He did once tell Jimmy Greaves that he had played football (or soccer as he called it) when he was younger. I tend not to believe a word that he says. Teams were told that they could not appeal against red cards. All except one team it seems. Maybe England might appeal against last nights red card. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Rain Dog Date: 06 Jul 26 - 10:02 PM A very subdued performance from the USA. Offered little in attack and very poor in defence. Belgium played very well. Trump is on the phone now. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Backwoodsman Date: 07 Jul 26 - 05:29 AM Sadly, the Fat, Arrogant, Orange Baboon has once more made the US a laughing stock and the butt of jokes all over the world. High time they sewed that ugly, vicious mouth of his shut once and for all. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Bill D Date: 07 Jul 26 - 10:28 AM It's nice that the US did so well this time, but not even Trump and an overturned red card could deal with just meeting a better team. Belgium just played like a team that might go all the way. It's interesting to me that the major national teams all have players who come from other countries. Places like Panama, Haiti, Curaçao and Uzbekistan don't get many immigrants. Even Balogun was only eligible for the US because he was born in Brooklyn while his Nigerian mother was visiting. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: gillymor Date: 07 Jul 26 - 10:44 AM Interesting, I wonder if Trump's neo-nazi minders were aware that Balogun is a birthright citizen. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Nigel Parsons Date: 07 Jul 26 - 10:52 AM This morning (UK time) I told my wife that the red-card incident didn't really matter as Belgium had knocked USA out of the cup. She worried me by adding "So far . . ." |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Backwoodsman Date: 07 Jul 26 - 12:00 PM Nice one, Nigel’s Mrs! I rather liked the comment from the Belgian team on their official X account - “Overturn that!”. :-) |

Subject: RE: BS: World Cup From: Backwoodsman Date: 08 Jul 26 - 02:25 AM ‘Stepped on an ankle’ By Erik C Petterson Got a red card? Banned from the game? Stepped on an ankle, Is your claim to fame? A faux Peace Prize leader, who wrote the Art of the Deal, he's negotiating your freedom, going to make an appeal. He's deeply loved by FIFA, Adored by Infantino. and if he asks for a favor, Jesus will turn water into Vino. So you stepped on an ankle? You're banned from a game? Tell Donald Trump, and he'll switch around the blame. Tell the Old Grifter, Let him advocate for you. That red card will be lifted, He'll make your dreams come true. Well you're back in the game, Belgium is waiting on their chance Now Its all up to you, So dont shit your pants. Belgium scored four goals, and your team scored only one. You lost ankle stepper! And your advocate's a BUM! |
