Subject: RE: new venue.. who would you book?(UK) From: GUEST,Jack Campin Date: 22 Oct 06 - 09:58 AM No point in booking anyone if your audience doesn't know who they are. Can you do enough publicity to tell your entire potential audience what these performers are like? |

Subject: RE: new venue.. who would you book?(UK) From: breezy Date: 22 Oct 06 - 11:50 AM Hi H -fit linda would that be a Judy who used to be with J L and The Bad pennies by any chance? Jack Campin is spot on. you can always have an unknown as long as you have a headline act to attract the punters, as long as the main act agrees , some dont like it in case they are upstaged !! nice try Gerry |
Subject: RE: new venue.. who would you book?(UK) From: Richard Bridge Date: 22 Oct 06 - 12:18 PM Hi Wendy I think Pint&Dale might be a runner. Although from the other side of the water, they are very nice engaging people with a surprisingly English ring to some of their harmonies, and a good range of material. William Pint plays one of the best guitars I have ever seen heard and held, a wonderful Goodall, and if you book them MAKE him bring a mandolin as well, he is pretty damn good on that too. Felicia Dale is a very good hurdy-gurdy player. They are plenty sophisticated enough for a sit-down theatre audience. I can lend you a couple of CDs if you like. You'd probably need to put some effort into the promotion as they seem to be less well known than they deserve. I think Jacey Bedford is their agent so she might be able to help on that side. |
