Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 1st 06 From: Rasener Date: 02 Dec 06 - 05:36 AM Thanks Mike and I would like to re-iterate your comments. Smashing evening again. I wonder if Tim the Twangler wil do his very good review of the evening. I hope so. Only found out as Aimee was leaving that she lives 50 yards away on the same estate as me. Its a new estate so it takes time to get to know people. Amazing. Did anybody get to see the photo's of Aimee's trek. Something that you would have done Mike. I hope Tim the Twangler was alright after the smoking song :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 1st 06 From: Georgiansilver Date: 02 Dec 06 - 05:38 AM Funny you should say that Les as I am considering a ten day trek in Nepal for my next holiday. Sorry I didn't get to see her pics. |

Not delegation is just that they are big Harri Watts fans. Wine was delicious lond live the raffle. Lovely to see TA and GS and SJ and ...... well was great to see all those familiar and freindly faces. Is nice to know that if main guest ever fails to arrive you have a great lot of tallent to fall back on within the club innit? |

Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 1st 06 From: Rasener Date: 02 Dec 06 - 11:21 AM Oh by the way Tim Glad the wine was OK. Always try to get decent wine and hoprfully people enjoy it, but don't get much feedback on that. Up until a couple of months ago, I only used to get wine that had proper corks in, but its like trying to fight a losing battle. Mind you the screw top bottles are supposed to be better and you don't need a bottle opener :-) |

Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 1st 06 From: GUEST,Zulu Date: 02 Dec 06 - 05:49 PM I got to see some of the pictures from the trip to India.I thought how lucky to that at such a young age.Enjoyed Aimee very much and thought the choice of her set was really interesting.I do like variety in a set and Aimee gave us that and more. Tina Taylor has one of those rich folk voices i guess many strive to achieve.Plenty of info between songs as to their origin and a who's who in the folk scene.Sad to say a lot of the names went over my head, but everyone else was nodding in reply. Harri Watts 1st set was all new stuff they are refining,i think they said. The club is a great place to air your new stuff and i am glad they recorded it.Only they will know what needs tweeking here and there, but for the rest of us it seemed to go down well. John Blanks rushed over from another gig and robbed Helian Keys of a chance to do a few vocal only songs. Thanks John,we will remember that,(only joking.)As ever the guy with the hint of Clive Gregson in his songs delivered all the club favourites in his set.Nice to hear everyone sing along.Glad John is well recovered now,(his words not mine.) Harri Watts came back to end the night with a collection of songs from their last cd,(yes i bought a copy last time they came.).All in all a splendid night of music provided by Les and the artists on show. Thanks everyone for asking if Helian keys was playing and not cheering when we said,"No." |
