Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: Joe_F Date: 29 Jul 16 - 05:51 PM No, it's not about Hillary. It's about the Democratic Party -- less obnoxious, on the average & on the whole, than the alternative. |
Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: Ebbie Date: 29 Jul 16 - 06:48 PM I stayed engaged through each evening of the Democratic convention. There were some remarkable speakers- and just about every single one of them spoke reason, sanity and good sense. As opposed to the GOP convention- if I could color the aura/atmosphere of each convention, the DNC would be full of light and animation while t'other would be dark and red and roiling. |
Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: Joe Offer Date: 29 Jul 16 - 07:45 PM Hillary is not a superstar. Her gifts are wisdom and tenacity. She has been in the public eye since 1992, and she has expressed many of her ideals and goals through the years - and she has held true to those ideals. I don't think she will come out with a lot of new programs and grandiose plans, but she will keep her ideals and goals in the back of her mind. And when the opportunity comes, she will put those ideals and goals into action - quietly, but firmly and effectively. I expect Hillary to win, and I expect a very wise Presidency from her. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 29 Jul 16 - 09:01 PM So long as there's a strong movement keeping her on course. |
Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: Janie Date: 29 Jul 16 - 09:39 PM Agree, McGrath. It will take a strong movement. Joe, I strongly agree with your impressions of Hillary and what her presidency might look like. I diaagree with you re your expectation she will win. She will win only if the full spectrum of those people who support her pretty much whole-heartedly and those who might hold their noses and vote for her as the lesser of evils join together and very actively work to get her elected. Otherwise, I expect Trump will win. |
Subject: RE: BS: Democratic Convention - Now It's About Hillary From: Donuel Date: 29 Jul 16 - 10:44 PM Cornell West summed it up thusly; You are at the LA train station and have a wedding in San Francisco. The express train was sabotaged and canceled out of caution. Another train going to San Francisco is a slow local. But there is a THIRD golden express train. It's going to hell. |
