Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: GUEST,theleveller Date: 27 Oct 06 - 10:34 AM I'm looking for a new place to come and play from time to time and the Sunday pm session sounds a great idea. Bit confused, though, as to where it's held (The Sun or Hodgson's) and at what time (3 or 4 pm). I'll be coming from Howden so I don't want to get it wrong. Can you advise, please? |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 27 Oct 06 - 12:23 PM This week (fifth of the month) is in the Sun from 3pm R |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Pistachio Date: 28 Oct 06 - 04:33 AM Guest theleveller - if we're not in the Sun, Flemingate (under the Minster) we're in Hodgsons,(Flemingate - turn left out of the Sun,over the railway line) a mere 4 minute stroll between the two unless you visit on the 'first Sunday' when we're in The Monks Walk, Highgate, leading townward from the Minster... we spread ourselves to keep the pubs happy and our lives varied!!! Well, my life anyway. |

The bow'ld Sir Rog was last night strutting his stuff with us in the "Nags Head" in Hull. Nice to see oggie,Graham and Sue and the countless supporters of "Punch The Horse", it is great to think we can still attract crowds of such magnitude and good manners after all these years. He has informed me that it will be the "Sun Inn" Beverley 3.00pm (new time) today. |

Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: ossonflags Date: 01 Nov 06 - 03:59 PM Well, I take your point John , but it is the old old story aint it? If we dont get to the sessions and play and sing we lose 'em and then there is nowt to do accept sit around and tell each other how good it would have been if only "they" had turned up to sing and play. Hope to see a few this Sunday at "Monks"? |

Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Pistachio Date: 06 Nov 06 - 03:13 PM Good to get to the Monks yesterday, didn't Derek do Luckiest Sailor well? Great to hear /see Gifford (I guess he's from Wakefield) and Gordon and his Aldi guitar - as advertised by oombanjo. It's such a therapeutic afternoon for me. Thanks Mick. Now, about New years day..pretend it's a Sunday and meet in the Monks to celebrate the NEW YEAR and all that. I expect to be 'in recovery' and full voice but it all depends on the time I 'retire' after Hogmanay! H. |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: ossonflags Date: 07 Nov 06 - 05:07 AM Thanks for that Hazel. yeh, always good to see and hear Gifford. A little explanation is needed here I think; It is mooted that we hold the "first sunday session" in "Monks" on the New years day 2007 which is a Monday - Sunday actually falls on the 31st Dec 2006. I do know some of you regulars go to Whitby over the festivities but from the requests I have had I think we could have the makings of a good day. Wadayall think? let me have some responces from people who can attend so I can get some sort of an idea if it is feasable. |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: GUEST Date: 07 Nov 06 - 06:25 AM Is there a session in the Sun on New Years Eve as it falls on a Sunday? |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 07 Nov 06 - 08:43 AM Not if we decide to hold one in the Monk's on the Monday. I vote for the Monday in the Monk's R |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: ossonflags Date: 07 Nov 06 - 09:05 AM Well that is two of us Rog |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 07 Nov 06 - 10:48 AM What will we do on the following Sunday, which is still the first Sunday of the month? R |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: ossonflags Date: 07 Nov 06 - 11:17 AM Well I would suggest that as this is a special occasion that I run "Monks" that Sunday as well.I will have to check with Lorainne of course. |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 08 Nov 06 - 03:49 AM Suits me fine - I was just seeking clarification R |
Subject: RE: Beverley Music - Support From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 08 Nov 06 - 11:56 AM Is everyone going to be fit to play this Sunday at the Sun after our Saturday night marathon gig? I'll have to be there - I'm running it! R |
