Subject: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Azizi Date: 19 Apr 07 - 08:38 PM "Gonzales marched out of the hearing at its conclusion, shortly before 5 p.m., as protesters began singing "Hey, hey, goodbye" from the 1970s hit song by Steam." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070419/ap_on_go_co/gonzales_prosecutors ** I got three questions for you: Who do you wanna say goodbye to? Why? And what song would fit them best? |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Azizi Date: 19 Apr 07 - 08:44 PM I'll start the ball rollin. I wish I had sung "Hit The Road, Jack" to several men I've was involved with {at separate times, of course} rather than me trying and trying and trying some more to work things out. Why? Because each one-for different reasons-needed to be gone. 'Nuff said. |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: George Papavgeris Date: 19 Apr 07 - 10:19 PM This is weird. I mean, I thought they'd be several cases in my life, but on second thought - no, none. The closest to it was Shambles, recently, for behaviour likely to damage some people's lives (IMHO, and I'll say no more). But even in that case, there was none of the "joy" implied by "Na na na na"; I just wanted him gone, and felt sad for wanting it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 20 Apr 07 - 12:00 AM Guest reminded me of a time. A friend and I were in Houston on business. We walked into the hotel bar and my friend pointed to a pretty girl (OK, woman) sitting at the bar. He started a conversation and we sat next to her. She was well ahead on the drinks. After a while, she started fishing in her purse for cigarettes and got frustrated, so she dumped the contents of the purse on the bar. Out bounced a little automatic. My friend and I looked at each other, we mumbled goodbyes and got to hurry, etc. and were out of there. (Now was showing the automatic an accident, or was she telling us to get lost?) |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Bobert Date: 20 Apr 07 - 07:43 AM Good question, MiziAzizi... I'm kinda the eternal optimist when it comes to people so I find it hard to just write people off... Yeah, okay, their is one particular weizel here in Mudville who has taken to stalking me by respondiong to just about everything I post that, ahhhh, gets a little tiring but if weizel were to leave, I'd probably miss him/her after a few days??? So I reckon I'll just stick with my usual... ...George Bush... I can't wait for this guy to be back at the ranch and not behind the wheel of our country... He is a complete screw up... Always has been and always will be... Yeah, Jan. 21, 2009 can't come fast enough... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Bill D Date: 20 Apr 07 - 01:40 PM 'goodbye' isn't always a negative... I like a friendly goodbye to folks I want to return. Tak' A Dram Oh, this evening's passed so quickly, And the music's almost done; We've heard the piper and the fiddler, The singer and his song. The time has come for us to leave you; One last song before we go; So button up and aye be cheery Tak a dram afore ye go. Button up and aye be cheery, Tak a dram afore ye go. For this night we will remember, And the music's been just fine; But the cold, grey land of Caithness Can be cruel and unkind. We must bid fareweel and leave you; Travel through the ice and snow; So button up, etc. So goodnight and God be with you . And watch over you until We can a' meet here thegither, And our glasses we will refill. We'll drink a health tae absent friends And make the beer and whisky flow, So button up, etc" |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 20 Apr 07 - 02:19 PM "Na Na Hey Hey" linked by SeanM in 2002, thread 43214, but not copied to Mudcat. Lyr. Add: NA NA HEY HEY (Kiss Him Goodbye) Steam; DeCarlo, Frashuer and Leka; 1969 Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye He'll never love you, the way that I love you 'Cause if he did, no, no, he wouldn't make you cry He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love) So dog-gone willin' So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him, wanna see you kiss him) Go on and kiss him goodbye. Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Listen to me now He's never near you to comfort and cheer you When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love) So dog-gone willin' So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him) Go on and kiss him goodbye. Na-na na-na-na- na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Hey Hey-hey, goodbye Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye Na na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye (Repeat many times and fade out) Got picked up by sports rooters. Called a 'bubblegum' song by some. Goodbye to the talking heads on CNN. Goodbye to the shock jocks. Goodbye to 'comedians' like Borat. A good song for the purpose, but leave out the lines about kissin' them (ugh), etc.; just sing the last verse. |

Subject: RE: BS: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey-eh Goodbye From: Bill D Date: 20 Apr 07 - 02:27 PM I can think of a few people to sing this to: "you were right, i was wrong it doesn't mean, i want you gone takin' it easy, just hangin' out even when i'm happy, seems that you're in doubt well, it's all about communication so, i say this for your information just because i like you, don't mean i need you you don't have to be here every day just because i'm with you, don't mean i have to i don't wanna diss you but how can i miss you when you never go away can get too much of something good you always call me, cause you think you should just relax and let it be i'll come around, eventually let's make certain what is fact or fiction though it may sound like a contradiction just because i like you... i don't need a long vacation but, now and then, just pass my station how i wish you understood that i don't wanna diss you i just wanna miss you just because i like you..." |
