Comedy writer with a long association with Frank Muir, The Two Ronnies and the Pythons. Also responsible for at least one show which transferred to Broadway.
Died aged 77.
Although capable of writing the kind of bawdy humour used in the 'Carry On' films and by Frankie Howerd, he was a very witty man, described by a fellow writer as 'Rather like Dorothy Parker with a beard'.
Survived by his wife Beryl, to whom he was married for 53 years.

Very funny man, who said Americans aren't funny?
Met him in a lift at LWT many moons ago, funny, and tall too!

Will miss his voice and dry humour off Radio 4. Lovely person to listen to.

Always remember his "lousy links" to songs- still a family saying.

Does anyone have a link to some of his work? Did he work mostly in the UK?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/talent/v/vosburgh_dick.shtml has a linked list of programmes he worked on, though not samples per se I don't think.

From the obit in The Times today, he came to the UK in the late 40s to go to drama college (RADA) and just stayed, essentially.
