Not too long ago, the British and American governments were telling us that Gaddafi was very little removed from the Devil himself. Now Tony Bliar is over there helping to sell Gaddafi missiles.

If they find out they were right in the first place, an awful lot of innocent people will have to pay the price. (Sadam and Iraq).

Of course, how ever many are killed as a result of their arrogance, they'll go off to church and confirm that they have God on their side and sleep easy in their beds, - these polititions really are the pits aren't they?

On this morning's news, in reporting on a deal to provide military help to Libya, I am sure air defence systems and missiles were mentioned. All I can find now is an offer of military help and very lucrative contract with BAe systems.

There is also a very lucrative oil deal for Shell.

According to Andrew Marr details of these deals are to be released shortly.......We shall see!

'Libya will buy British missiles and air defence systems under a new defence cooperation agreement between the two countries, Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi said on Tuesday.

"Libya will buy missiles and air defence weapons in addition to (making arrangements for military) training and local manufacturing," he told reporters in the Libyan town of Sirte at the end of a one-day visit to the north African country by British Prime Minister Tony Blair.'

Blair was shown on tv with Gaddafi. He said this was a good deal for the UK and a good deal for Lybia. Hypocrite!

This is of a piece with the recent dramatic lessening of interest in democracy--supposedly a main goal-- in Egypt, for instance, by Mr. Bush. With their stupid and tragic Iraq war--which has alienated the vast majority of the world--at least the sentient portion-- Bush and Blair are desperate for friends anywhere they can find them.

I'm really not surprised. Duplicity in arms deals happens all the time; we sold Stuff to Saddam when he was our mate, the Mujahideen in Afghanistan when they were fighting the Russians; the list goes on and on and the Americans are no different.
Political expediency is the name of this game-oh, and money.
