My local Post Office folks thought it was kind of funny when the "guy in the back" let me use the biggest cart in the place. It was about ten feet long. They stopped snickering when I brought it back in - full!

Now, those Post Office folks are pretty cool. They are counting the days - even closer than I am - to my 1000th order! I have to take the 1000th order to a specific Post Office - with a bottle of sparkling apple cider (Champange is not allowed) so they can celebrate!

How cool is that?

well I recieved my 12 bottles of woody's from san francisco Bills. It arrieved yesterday in good shape . now if I did not have the flu bug I might have used one but every time I go out in the cold air I start coughing so my wife made a big pot of home made chicken soup. There is something about chicken soup that helps make you better when you are sick. I am from the napa valley so when summer sets in we use quite a bit of woody's lots of outside cooking.

Claire, thanks for the nice mention - and the link. I talked to the new owner when this all began and he emphasized that he changed NOTHING. He's a Woody's fan too, so I haven't felt the need to test a jar of original Woody's yet.

Never having tried the Sweet 'n Sour, my first bottle is on our chicken dinner, cooking NOW! I can let you know how it is when dinner is finished. The kitchen sure smells good right now, I can tell you for fact!

Another batch of orders went into the mail tonight.

Dinner done, here is the report on Woody's Sweet 'n Sour marinade, which I poured on chicken just before baking dinner tonight:

Girlfriend - and co-owner of the house we own, so you know it's more than a casual relationship: "WOW! This is GOOD"! "I want you to make this again"! I'm also the day-to-day chef at our house.

Cat: "Meow, give me MORE"! The little beggar.

Son: "Yeah, this is pretty tasty. Different. Good". Teenagers don't talk much, so you have to listen when they do.

Me: "Man this is good! Completely different than what I expected. I expected the sweet and sour taste of pork at a Chinese restaurant, but this isn't it. This is more like *Woody took a vacation in Hawaii* sauce"! I guess that wouldn't fit on a label.

This is another unique taste. It's different from Woodys, but you can tell that it's where the roots come from. Hard to describe. On chicken, I can tell you I can boil it down to two words: Delicious and different!

It's too bad I don't have much left. I got the very last of the first batch. I'm sure more is coming soon!

I may have to limit the number of bottles per order, so everyone who wants to taste it - can!

My friend at the Post Office, taking in box after box after box tonight from me, said "I guess there's going to be a lot of Christmas Briskets served this year, aren't there"? I smiled and said, "I think so".

I can't begin to explain to you Mudcat folks just how happy it makes me, with every box I pack up, the pleasure I get from making you happy! This sure worked out well, didn't it? And it was a combination of everyone...

I just got my first report of a problem. One package was hit by a spike or shaft of some kind, breaking one bottle out of ten. He didn't ask for any kind of adjustment or cure, but thanked me for bring Woody's back to him.

Having run my website for a number of years now, I DO have some rules. Rule #1: Nobody, absolutely NOBODY, is ALLOWED to leave my website less than 100% satisfied! Until you are satisfied beyond your expectations - I own you!

Work at an upscale grocer in Calif, Emailed woodys and got the name of the broker handling Woodys. My rep from C+S wholesale grocers came in and I gave him the name of the broker he knew her, said he was going to call someone and see if the could it back in the warehouse. So hopefully Woodys will be available at your local grocers soon.

OKC, I remember packing your order today! It was the only one for two bottles. I have been a little lax about sending acknowledgements, I must confess. I just discovered this thread, and I am so greatful for everyone's hard work to get this great product back on the shelves. I did not know so many people had the same story as I did. I am 60, and I do not remember ever having a family barbeque without using Woody's. I was very upset when it disappeared from the store shelves, and found out it was no longer being produced. I looked all over town, buying any bottles I could find. I went on line and purchased a case from an online store. Today I was fixing burgers, and realized I had only about 2 inches of sauce remaining in my last bottle! I stopped preparing the burgers, and went to my computer. I Googled Woody's Cook-in Sauce and found this thread. I was so excited to read that it was now available online, and will soon return to the store shelves. I purchased 6 bottles from www.SFFDGear.com/woodys.htm to hold me over until it appears in my store again. If I use it all before that happens, then I will order more! Any stores restocking Woody's Cook-in Sauces yet? My first, and last, mail order was a disaster. Two broken bottles out of six that I could see inside the shipping box. What a mess! It was not worth handling broken glass. I threw out the whole shipment since the other four bottles could have broken glass in them.
I'm taking the loss and eagerly awaiting the product in stores. I found two bottles in a store and a Sweet and Sour bottle in another store while traveling recently. All three bottles have the painted info on the bottles, not the stick-on labels.

The fact that there is a sticker on the bottle doesn't tell me, because we all have to put them on - it's a rule (and maybe a law) to say "refrigerate after opening". It used to be on the cap - and will be again - but until then ALL sellers of the product have to add the label until it gets back on the cap again. Richard "the Hero of Woody's" was very clear about that, and of course I respect it. (You may also be referring to the sticker label. If you got a bottle without a "refrigerate after opening" sticker, it certainly didn't come from me!

If you DID order from my site, I suggest you look around it. I think I make it pretty clear that you are not ALLOWED to leave an SFFDGear.com transaction less than delighted! Not just satisfied, Delighted! I just won't have less than that, and never have!

With that policy, I have made some very loyal friends and fans, as well as a solid business. I'm not about to change it now.

If your order was from SFFDGear.com, send me the order number - from the shipping label - or just send me your name, address and approximate order date. I WILL COMPLETELY replace your order - including the unbroken bottles - on your say so alone. That's how I do business.

Asian Foods has it, at a completely outrageous price!   www.SFFDGear.com has it for much less and ships via Priority Mail, so it's much faster!

I used to love and always thought that the very best BBQ sauce was KC Masterpiece and then one night a friend of mine convinced me to try Woody's I reluctenly put this sauce on my chicken and could not believe the out come. That was about 27 years ago. I am from Dallas and I had no idea that Woody's was going to be so hard to find. I have recently moved back to Dallas after living in Houston for a long while and I thought that I was having a hard time finding Woody's because I wasn't in Dallas anymore. So when I moved back to Dallas about 4 months ago I still could not find Woody's so I came across this thread and am so greatful that there are so many other fans. Woody's is back and "closer to the store shelves"!! Check out www.woodyscookin.com. They say if you don't see it at your local store to email or call them.

They also say that we can provide them with our preferred grocer and they will work with their distributors to carry "WOODY'S.
According to their web site Albertson's in Texas will be among the first to carry it.
