Hopefully we will still see you around on the circuit Les. Your club and yourself will be missed by your many friends. It is an honour to know you and we all surely respect your wanting to have 'family time'....
Sincere Best wishes to you and yours and hope to see you around...Mike.

The Walker Brothers Sang that lovely song."You've lost that lovin' feelin'

It was the Righteous Brothers who sang that song.

I've never been able to make Faldingworth Live as my Friday evenings are already booked up, but I have followed its progress with interest here on Mudcat. It's a shame that it can't continue but as you say, Les, some things are more important.

"Breaking up is hard to do" was by Neil Sedaka, although the Carpenters, amongst others, did record it as well. I don't think I'd include the Walker Brothers in that list.

Perhaps you're thinking of "Make It Easy On Yourself". "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" was another one of theirs.

Doug.."Breaking up is so very hard to do" was the first line of their No one hit...and I believe you are right yet again the title was "Make it easy on yourself" Give yourself a pat onthe back....
PS are you coming to Brandy Wharf this August (assuming it will be staged then)?

Such a pity it is a great club-I hope someone volunteers to keep it going but its a huge undertaking.

Les, thanks for the personal note, but I thought I'd reply here to spread my appreciation for what you've done a bit wider.

Like you have for a lot of others I guess, you gave Christine and I one of our very first full gigs. I'm sad that we won't be coming up to see you again in November, but as you and everyone else have said, some things are more important. Our nearest and dearest sometimes find that hard to believe, but I think something like this gives us all a reality check!

You and the club will be sorely missed. You're both unique, and the better for it!

I'm sure we'll keep in touch, here at least.

All the best for the future.

Our very warmest wishes go with you.

Steve (and Christine)

Just to add our appreciation of all that Les has done for live music in Lincolnshire (and, no doubt, further afield).

We are grateful for the gigs and the pleasure of mingling with a great bunch of folkies in that unique environment that always seems to go hand-in-glove with live music events.

Good luck Les and all the best for the future. Thanks for all your hard work in both putting on the events and producing the two Yellowbelly CDs.

Take care

Martin & Elizabeth
