Not a bad joke teller, Poor actor, like Micheal Caine he just played himself, But my condolences to his family and all who loved him, a sad loss to them I am certain..........

Agreed! Not the world's best actor but, by heck! He could tell a joke.

Very funny man who made people laugh - and that is a good enough epitaph for anybody.

Didn't see him in Eastenders but liked his stand up, even if his swearing was a bit over the top at times.

Caine for me never achieved the suspension of disbelief, likewise Ustinov. Suchet on the other hand, within a few minutes you see only the character and not the actor.

From the things I read and hear about Mike Reid, he was a vrey kind man and was a fantastic family man.
I liked Mike as a comedian and always thought that Eastenders didn't bring his humour through and created a dour sort of character.

A larger than life character, very good comedian, and did my favourite cover of "The Ugly Duckling" too. RIP, Mr Reid.

Big Phil. I am am British and come from South London, as did Michael Caine. There is nothing wooden about Caine's acting. Look at Get Carter, Alfie, Educating Rita, and The Man Who Would Be King, to name just a few. Excellent films and with excellent performances from Caine in all of them. May the floods sweep away all your DVD collection, which what with all the floods and all in England, it probably has anyway.

Mike Reid never did a lot for me, I have to admit, (to get back to the what the thread is all about) but sorry to hear he is dead.
