Subject: RE: lyric request: THE BEAR From: Barbara Date: 16 Apr 99 - 11:58 PM Is it one about standing by a stream in winter, cant go back, food on the other side, danger to cross and, and ends: " he entered in" or something like that? Written by Rick Lee, is that right, 'CAtters? I've got it on a tape in the car, if that's the one. Blessings, Barbara |
Subject: RE: lyric request: THE BEAR From: Frank of Toledo Date: 17 Apr 99 - 12:38 AM Great song. Written by Andy May and done by Rick Lee of Natick Massachusetts on his Waterbug CD "There's Talk About A Fence". Bear is about the experience of living--of challenge and the choice to face that challenge honestly. Andy said he first recorded it in 1970. I will copy the lyrics down and if you don't have it by morning I'll send them to you. |

Subject: Lyr Add: BEAR (Andy May) From: cnd Date: 19 Aug 15 - 11:09 PM From his album, There's Talk About A Fence, you can listen to it here BEAR (Andy May) When he came to the river His feet had froze When he came to the river Before his eyes the raging flood arose So Bear just stood there Shaking his head The path behind him Was thick with ice The flood before him Could be crossed but would demand a price So Bear just stood there Watching instead His life spun before him All the things he had done But standing by the foreign flood It was as if he hand't done a-one So Bear just stood there Shaking his head He knew his hunger He knew his thirst But to get beyond the river He knew that he would have to cross it first So Bear stepped forward And entered in |
