Probably spelled it wrong but oh well. I would like to go to Washington D.C. this November, followed by a short trip to Iowa Via Madison, WI to look for family roots. I can probably afford the airfare but not a week of hotels...would any female types (who might like a visit on the Washington coast some time) be able to put me up, just a spot on the floor is all I need..in Washington D.C. Nov 9, 10, and 11, and perhaps Madison WI in Nov 12 and 15 and somewhere near Clermont (NE) Iowa November 13 and 14...I might have a window of opportunity to actually go but it is the hotels and possibly renting a car in WI and IA that will make this unlikely. My itenerary is Portland to D.C. Nov. 9 (although I might get an overnight flight)..D.C. 2 days, on to Madison, probably spend the night, although actually I could rent a car and go straight to Iowa..spend a couple of days in Iowa...fly back. I don't drink, smoke, use drugs etc. You could write me at [e-mail]. I will be very tied up in D.C. and probably could not visit too much. mg

also, would anyone in the d.c. area have one of those coupon books (also Madison WI area) where you get half off meals, hotels etc. That could save me a lot. I have stayed in the Howard University Hotel (very nice) in D.C. before with a half off coupon. mg

I got the tickets and plans ahve changed..I will fly to D.C. on the 10th from Portland, stay till the evening of the 12th, fly to Chicago, possibly go with one or more second cousins down to Iowa, and fly back from Chicago on the 16th. I still would love perhaps to stay with someone (female or couple) on the 10th and 11th...in D.C. and if anyone lives in NE Iowa, or would like to camp...there is a campsite there. I am nto sure how this works into the lives of my second cousins..we had hoped to meet for Irish Fest but timewise it did not work.

Some good SW flights out there right now..also round trip portland to D.c. was 244 on expedia..on Delta I think. But I had a split trip. But before taxes it was Portland, D.C., Chicago Portland for about $274 through SW. mg
