In 1984 I co-fonded the ceilidh band Madcap. The band is till going nearly 25 years on. A fellow founder of the band, piper John Snelson, died earlier this year and a group of his friends had a lovely night of music and memories at the King's Arms in Salford last Friday night, hosted by Mike Bowden.
Madcap are holding a memorial ceilidh at the Irish Club, High Lane in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester on Saturday 1st December. John's parents have asked for the proceeds to go to St Ann's Hospice who cared for him in his latter days.
