Subject: Obit: Moira Lister From: Fiolar Date: 29 Oct 07 - 09:58 AM Another great actress has departed. Moira Lister (6th August 1923 - 27th October 2007) has died in South Africa. Among her many films are such classics as "The Cruel Sea" (1953) and "The Yellow Rolls Royce" (1965). Farewell and say "Hi" to the other greats. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Moira Lister From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 29 Oct 07 - 11:33 AM Who (ok: whom) did she play in Yellow Rolls Royce, do you know? My parents took me to Radio City Music Hall as a treat when I was a kid (we travelled from California) and I loved the whole experience - the Rockettes show, the art-deco black-marble ladies room, and that film. So it's something of a sentimental memory for me - R.I.P. Moira - and break a leg up there! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Moira Lister From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 29 Oct 07 - 03:12 PM Wasn't it Shirley MacLaine with Omar Sharif?? Maybe not, can't really remember, but I seem to recall that the original owner was Lord Whatsisface who was played by Rex Harrison - ?? It was a LONG time ago! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Moira Lister From: Flash Company Date: 30 Oct 07 - 10:39 AM Lovely story in today's paper which ML told against herself. She was apparently appearing in a farce in the West End in the '70's when an admirer came to the stage-door with a huge bouquet of flowers. She thanked him graciously, and then, as she put it, he asked the killer question. ' Miss Lister, are they your own teeth?' They don't make 'em nowadays! Another great loss. Brian Q PS Hi Bonnie! B |
