I've just spoken to Mrs Backwoodsman and it seems that John is on the mend. He had his operation on Tuesday and the various tubes are being removed day by day. She did tell me that he is starting to show an interest in the nurses so he must be feeling better! Another week or so in hospital though before he is allowed back amongst us.
Any messages you want to send in the meantime - I'll do my best to pass them on.

Send him our best please Sooz. I hope he's fit enough in December to get to Gainsborough - I'm hoping to make it while I'm in Newark and we can swap operation stories.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Please note - there were no bedbath experiences! Some funny stories to relate though, next time I make it to GFC.

The Belly-Zip is a bit sore at the moment and I daren't bend too quickly in case I fall in two! :-)
Otherwise, the painkillers are killing the pain and inactivity is killing me (almost)!
