Ian Bruce played in the Valley Folk Club,Pontardawe last night and was superb.He was a fine singer of fine songs and I was particularly impressed by his versions of Jock ? Bairns Are Coming Home and El Dorado. Both songs were fantastic and perhaps a Mudcatter could tell me mote about either one.
Ian is singing in Bremen tonight....what a good performer!

Ian is absolutely wonderful!
Great voice and great performer as well. I have been to two or three concerts when he was playing in Germany and I was still living there.
I have about 4 CDs from him and I love them!
He is also playing with a guy named Victor, but I think they only do this duo in Germany cause Victor used to live in Northern Germany.

I can highly recommend this artist and songwriter!!!

Thanks for reminding me to look up his German dates. I try to hear him once a year, and he is never less than very good. Even the year he arrived over an hour late, after being stopped and forbidden to drive on by German motorway police for insufficient profile on his car tyres! Must have made him feel a bit harrassed, but it didn't show.

He sometimes does gigs in Germany with Vic Besch, singer and piper from Swansea iirr but now living in the Bremen area.

A great performer I saw him in Llantrisant Folk Club earlier this year.I like all his songs but my favourites are Blodwyn's Dream and The Touch and the Go.

Hi everyone,
I am a big fan of Ian's. My favourite CD of his is "Jigs, Jives and Jacobites", as I think he is at his best when listened to live. As I downloaded the album from his website, I don't have the lyrics. Does anyone have the lyrics of "Where should I go", the first track of the album? I have tried to find them on the net but without success. I would be very thankful if anybody could post them here.

"Coming Home" was writ by Steven Clark, aka Mudcat's Scabby Douglas. It's a fine fine song, and Ian B does it brilliantly.

I've just been sent the link to this blog. Very nice to read such nice things about me. Thanks a lot. The lyrics of Jigs Jives and Jacobites are in the cover. So they are easy to find. Well maybe 2008 is shaping up. I just need another couple of million folks like the previous writers and I'll be delighted. (and possibly rich!)
