Subject: Lyr Add: D'ror Yikra From: GUEST,Volgadon Date: 03 Dec 07 - 12:17 PM This is a Jewish piyut (Jewish liturgy), with a medieval text and Yemenite melody, messianic in tone, but also about the blessings of keeping the Sabbath. I think it's one of the finest examples of liturgy in general and piyut in particular. The shorter version is given below. It's the one most frequently encountered. An excellent recording can be had here (the whole site is invaluable) http://www.piyut.org.il/tradition/224.html?section=morePerformances&currPerformance=249&playing=0 {D'ror yikra l'ven im bat v'yintzarkhem k'mo vavat} x2 ni'im shimkhem v'lo yushbat {shivu v'nukhu b'yom shabat} x2 {D'rosh navi v'ulami v'ot yesha eseh imi} x2 neta sorek b'tokh karmi {sh'eh shav'at b'nei ami} x2 {Elohim ten bamidbar har hadas shita b'rosh tidhar} x2 v'lamaz'hir v'laniz'har {shelomim ten k'mei nahar} x2 |
