As far as I can tell, "Was Geschah" is nowhere in the database. According to the best of my Net research, it's German (Prussian) and traditional as all get-out. It's got a really lovely tune, and the words are moving also. It's anti-war, sort of like "Where have all the flowers gone", except better. How can I submit it to the database?

Hi,

Start a new thread called something like

Add.lyrics:Was Gechlah, (don't use "'s or your title may disappear).

Dick will get around to putting into the database eventually..... it gets updated about twice a year. If you have a tune... stick it in too.

Slainte

Andy,
in case you mean this song it's really worth posting and I shall let you do it. It is one of the very few German language songs I ever considered posting. However, it is not a German song in origin, for it comes from Latvia (or Lithuania). Pete Seeger is on record for having said or written that he had read a few lines in a Russian book that gave him the idea for his 'Where have all the flowers gone'. It is probable that this is the song involved.

Wolfgang

That's the one. I'll send it in, as soon as I get around to it, then. Maybe with a tune and a translation.
