Subject: How to add a song? From: Andy A. Date: 04 May 99 - 10:18 PM As far as I can tell, "Was Geschah" is nowhere in the database. According to the best of my Net research, it's German (Prussian) and traditional as all get-out. It's got a really lovely tune, and the words are moving also. It's anti-war, sort of like "Where have all the flowers gone", except better. How can I submit it to the database? |

Subject: RE: How to add a song? From: alison Date: 05 May 99 - 03:00 AM Hi, Start a new thread called something like Add.lyrics:Was Gechlah, (don't use "'s or your title may disappear). Dick will get around to putting into the database eventually..... it gets updated about twice a year. If you have a tune... stick it in too. Slainte alison |

Subject: RE: How to add a song? From: Wolfgang Date: 05 May 99 - 05:41 AM Andy, in case you mean this song it's really worth posting and I shall let you do it. It is one of the very few German language songs I ever considered posting. However, it is not a German song in origin, for it comes from Latvia (or Lithuania). Pete Seeger is on record for having said or written that he had read a few lines in a Russian book that gave him the idea for his 'Where have all the flowers gone'. It is probable that this is the song involved. Wolfgang |
